Ok,what I am going towards is what kind of mythological/supernatural weapon will Lara be getting next. In Legend she got Excalibur and now that I am part way thru Underworld(just went down into Xibalba) I see she is going towards Thor's hammer,Mjöllnir.

So basically, what will be next?

Forum Guidelines - Please Read Before Posting

These are a few simple guidelines to follow here to avoid the spam issue and keep the forum interesting and entertaining to all. Things may be added at a later date, so check back occasionally.

1. Keep your posts to the topic of the thread. Don't interrupt them to say "hi" to a member, instead use the Private Message feature of the board. And try to make your posts more than one word, although sometimes that is all that's needed, don't make a habit of it, we want to hear your voice (well, read your messages).

2. Read what you have written before you post it. Make sure it makes sense and is readable enough. We all make those bad speelling meestakes once in a while .

3. Before you start a new thread, look to see if there is anything related to the issue already posted. You can also do a search of the forum for a specific topic. If your thread isn't there, get a discussion going (ask questions or for opinions). Just make sure that if it's a debate that everyone's opinion is to be respected.

4. Links to your TR sites are ok and also your forums but it can't be in a post. The link can be in your signature, in your forum profile. People will see it when you post. If you do post a thread it will be deleted without notice.

5. Anyone impersonating a mod or Tom in chat and using their names will be banned from this site for eternity without any hope of ever coming back. Your IP's are recorded and we know who you are.

6. Anything truly obscene or vulgar will be dealt with immediately and the author warned.

7. While the moderators are doing their jobs, if you feel a topic has been closed unfairly don't take a hissyfit. Speak to the moderator over Private Message and discuss it with them to find their reasons and explanations. See, talking always helps =).

8. This forum has got a warning system. This means that moderators can and will use it. You'll receive a Private Message or Email when you get a warning and you can see your warning system under your avatar. You can have 3 warnings in one day. After that, an admin can disable your posting ability or suspend your account. Be sure to follow the rules and instructions given and we won't need to do it.

9. Signatures are to be a maximum dimensions of 500 x 250 with a maximum size of 500kb. While there is no limit to the number of signature pictures, don't go too overboard. Lara will come and get you and hit you... a lot.

Would you pay more for a full game without DLC?

Would you pay more for a full game without DLC?

I think downloadble content is just an excuse to charge more for a game but I also think it stinks
to pay for a full game and parts are out of it for DLC. So you get a shorter game and have to pay
for the rest of the game and they sugarcoat it as bonus material. I'd rather just pay a bit more for
the full thing if they are hurting so bad for your extra money. Also I like to have the disks for the future
as they are on a hard drive on a console that will die one day or you'll upgrade and might be able to transfer
by buying the cables etc. to move your stuff over to the new. With the disks I can have them regardless of
what happens and be able to play anytime. Especially the exclusiveness as in the Xbox 360 for Beneath the Ashes
and Lara's Shadow wasn't fair to the majority of PS3 people and PC people who dominated the fan purchases.
I hope now that Eidos is with Square Enix they'll respect all formats the fans play on and make DLC not part of the game.
I would suggest outfits, mods and vehicles etc and not go low balling us on a shorter game and have to download and buy the rest.
What's your opinon? Let the powers that be know how you feel and maybe your voice will be heard!

Tomb Raider 9 Hardware Software and the game itself

I was thinking and probably late 2011 before we see a new game and 2 years can change not only the consoles but the pc also.

The XBOX 360 will be fossilicious by then and yet the PS3 will probably hold it's own IMO.
Forget about the Wii unless they make the Wii-O that has blu-ray and better graphics.

Anyhoo we'll probably need a Quad-Core minimum with 4 gig ram and a gig of graphics ram and most likely either a Blu-Ray dvd player
or about 20 gig of hard drive space. Why so much? Well look at Drakes Fortune 2 for example. To get that onto DVD would take at least
3 dual layer DVD disks yet only 1 blu-ray. We all know a year on a pc and it equivalent to 3 on a car. Technology evolves so fast and
if Tomb Raider wants to be ahead of the curve they'll have to pull out all the stops and do it properly in 1080 dpi.

For the game I think they need to look at the first 3 and give us some of the pointless exploration in the mansion and the story so far.
Additional content should be free for all formats. The add on levels are just an excuse to make you pay again even if it's only 10 dollars.

60 for the console game 20 for both add on levels and another 10 or so for skin themes and pics and the walkthrough book 20= 110 for one game.

Get that camera sorted please thank you very much! Get the woah factor back and make those graphics and Lara Croft looking like it's 2011.
The cartoony look save for mobile phones and or the Wii lol.

Grant you I love all the games even AOD and all it's quirks but I am a TR fan and I'm partial. I'd like to see the non fans and reviewers
finally get blown away that they can't say oh no not another Tomb Raider with this and that wrong with it.

We all know Eidos wanted the cash and pressured Crystal Dynamics all the time to get it out we'll patch it later... perhaps with Square and their
wad of cash will allow the game to get finished tested and polished before they let it go to pressing.

Woah Windows 7 by then that should be fun lol

What do you think? Do you think I'm close on the hardware? What do you want to see? I want kick arse realism I think that's what TR needs blood and all.

tomb raider becomes "survival raider"???

i have not been a into TR a lott for years, so i dont really know a lott about what i am going to say. but is it true that the newest game with lara croft in it is going to be not a tomb raiding game but a survival game? one of my friends told me and i read something about it in a game magazine, that they were going to make lara croft younger (just out of collage) and that she somehow would land on a island full of dangers and she had to survive using skills and her surrounding. i did not really like that, that they made her a child again (the "new" lara croft) and that the game would probably not be about tomb raiding, she wont even have her twin guns?

does anyone know more about this, or is there something about this on the forum?

Improvements on Tomb Raider

Well, Tomb Raider had its ups and downs: from the first positive shock, to the downfall in AoD (which I consider, although being buggy and glitchy, a very good game, but that's another topic), the reborn in Legend, and the critical state that it is now: critical, because either the franchise loses a lot of impact, or it reborns gloriously.
But, since the begginig of the franchise, gamers are always expecting something new, something cool, or just something. So, what do you expect? Better graphics, sound, presentation, longevity?

Tomb Raider 9 is happening!

Ian Livingstone was recently interviewed at www.gamingindians.com.

Here's the full interview: Ian Livingstone Interview (Click here)

Here's the interesting part:

Tomb Raider has probably been your biggest franchise over the years. But sales for Underworld haven’t been up to the mark. Do you think the series is losing steam now?

Underworld has met our target expectations, but it’s a tough market at the moment. There aren’t as many PlayStation 3s or Xbox 360s in the world as there were PlayStation 2s or PlayStation Ones. The hardware is quite expensive and production costs are rising. So there are certain challenges, but as a franchise, I don’t think Lara Croft is going down at all. In fact, her popularity continues to increase. Not every game has been brilliant; Angel of Darkness is probably the dark point in her career. If you look at movies, James Bond has survived 40 years. Not all those films have been great, but the character remains strong. The next Tomb Raider, I think, will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise. There are some remarkable things we’re doing in the next Tomb Raider to make you say, “Oh Lara, I love you so much!”

I love her so much, already, but good news!!

MsC
