Keep falling after rescue plane crash

Recommended Posts

OK, newb at action games, so please bear with me. Very basic problem: Playing on the pc, using keyboard and mouse. After the rescue plane is hit by lightning and crashes I can get Laura down the slope ok but damned if I can figure out how/when to hit the W key to get her to grip the platform. I'm assuming that the W key is the one, since a prompt with a W in it appears. Getting tired of watching that looooong fall to Laura's death. Please advise after you stop laughing :)

It's actually the Interact button you need to press there. So if you haven't reassigned any keys, it should be E. Otherwise, whichever key you assigned to that function. The timing isn't too precise here. As long as you press it while the prompt is on-screen, you should be good.

FWIW, most of the QTEs involve either the Melee button (F) or Interact button (E). I'm not sure why they show generic red icons rather than the actual letters, maybe to keep from having to display different icons if case people reassign keys, or maybe for international play, like on Japanese keyboards.

I really like my Xbox controller. I played Legend with the keyboard and mouse but "graduated" for Anniversary. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I like it *much* better. This might be a good time to try it, since a lot has changed with the new control scheme. You may need to restart with the earlier (less dangerous) levels just to get the hang of it, but I highly recommend it.

Just played for about an hour with the controller. Seamless game integration. Much better action control, makes for a considerably better game in that respect. However, I don't like the aiming and shooting controls as compared to the mouse and keyboard. In fact, I actively dislike them. *sigh* I will stick with the controller because of the action control, but the targeting leaves a lot to be desired.
