Reassurance needed!

Recommended Posts

If I get the game it'll be on the 360, however, I must say I'm somewhat disappointed by the new layout and how it's only available on download. The download alone will no doubt take up more system memory than I have, lol. Can anybody reassure me? as normally, even if I didn't like the look of a new TR game I'd buy it just to be loyal! It just appears as though it's gone all 'strategy/RPG' is that the intention?

The game's action-adventure, not strategy/RPG, with lots of puzzle-solving, plus optional challenges which give rewards if you choose to go after them. The new layout with the isomorphic camera doesn't bug me, although I found lining up jumps to be awkward until I got used to it and I found that I'd often send Lara leaping over cliffs by mistake.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the price, so I'd recommend it if you have the hard drive space for it (the PC download was about 2GB, if I remember correctly).

it's worth getting! I didn't finish yet but I'm dying to play more this weekend! ;) Besides, once the online co-op comes, we'll be able to play online eith each other! :)

Thanks for the advice guys! I downloaded the playable demo yesterday and it's the same size as the full game (just over 2GB on Xbox 360....which has been said I believe). On the surface it doesn't look too bad, but I just loved the 3rd person style of previous TRs. This one just seems like a game add-on almost. It juyst seems extreamly small in comparison to other TR games, and in my opinion the camera angles make it look like it's old before its time. The price also reflects its longevity, at 1200MS points that's the equivalent of like £10. I'm used to seeing new games at like £40! Final rant I promise...why is it only a download? *ducks for cover*

lol

Because:

- It's the new era of video games (you probably noticed the amount of games available like this).

- Makes games cheaper

- It's different and people like "different"

- you can get your hands on it as soon as it's out, instead of waiting it gets to the shops...

I'm sure other people can find other reasons! I understand what you mean though... I like to have the games and the boxes too. ;)

That's another thing I like...the boxes for games....especially shiny new ones! ;)

I like the game. I wouldn't be happy if they used the view in all TR games from now on, but I didn't mind it once I got used to it. If you are big into role playing and story development (with character interaction) only, then you may be disappointed. However, it has all the other Tombraider qualities. Weapons, very tough baddies, even tougher boss fights, puzzles (my favorite part of the game), and hidden pick-ups to find.

The view is good for the type of game it is. I think because it was designed to be co-op, they made it smaller so that you could view a larger area. I haven't played co-op. I'm using my experience with the Lego games, which have a similar layout. One problem in earlier Lego games is that the characters would pull each other if they went too far away from each other, and this made battling difficult. In the later games, they resolved this issue by splitting the screen--which took some getting used to.

Downloads on Xbox 360 take forever! <_< However, I have played the game twice and loved it! It is one of them I would list as a favorite, though I haven't played all of them just yet.

Hi

For me I just couldn't play it, the isometric controls just drove me so crazy I couldn't stick with it long enough to get the hang of it.

I guess it will be the only Tomb Raider game that I don't finish.
