Guested Account Posted May 21, 2025 Report Posted May 21, 2025 Streaming begins with 2 episodes premiere Tuesday August 12th (FX on Hulu in the USA, Disney+ in the UK) and one episodes each following Tuesday totaling 8 episodes. In November 2024 it was confirmed the series will take place in 2120. Making the events of this series take place 27 years after the prequel film Prometheus (2012) which takes place in 2093, 16 years after Alien: Covenant (2017) taking place in 2104, two years before the events of the original film Alien (1979) which takes place in 2122, 17 years before the hit video game Alien: Isolation (2014) set in 2137, 22 years before the recently released Alien: Romulus (2024) set in 2142, 59 years before Aliens (1986) & Alien³ (1992) which both take place in 2179 and 261 years before Alien Resurrection (1997) which is set in 2381. Teaser Trailer This is some trailer. Is that the same ship from Alien 1979 or are all Weyland-Yutani ships the same like the World War II Liberty ships, all identical? After seeing this 3 minutes trailer I actually have hope for this series, also because all 8 episodes will be written and produced by Noah Hawley, the producer of the FX Fargo TV series. Quote
Guested Account Posted August 7, 2025 Author Report Posted August 7, 2025 Early reviews are in and they are GOOD! This review calls it the best Alien since James Cameron's Aliens. https://www.gamesradar.com/entertainment/horror-shows/alien-earth-review/ https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-reviews/alien-earth-timothy-olyphant-sydney-chandler-noah-hawley-fx-1236335484/ I have high hopes since the first time I heard about this going into into production because the creator is the same showrunner for Fargo series. Guested Account Posted September 24, 2025 Author Report Posted September 24, 2025 I felt they got lazy with last week episode 7 and last night finale. both were only 44-47 minutes including credits when the other 6 episodes were 55-63 min. Then to end last night episode like that with a lot unresolved and unanswered, we will have to wait for a 2nd season, which at this time it hasn't been greenlit by FX. Considering how long it takes these streaming services to make a new season, 2-3 years, and then to insult viewers with only 6-8 episodes per season, and in many cases to split the release of those 6-8 episodes into 2 different dates; it might be 2027 or 2028 before we will even see a 2nd season! 1992 Pepsi commercial promoting Alien 3 Quote
