Any threads found in Off Topic (or any other forum) that is relevant to "ranting" will be moved here. Please not that if you do not follow this, you may be warned.

We all need to rant about things now and again... Well for some ( like me ) all the time. I thought I would create a thread where we could do that. :D

Ok I'll start...

I am so pissed off that I spent £2.25 on Helena to win the role of maria in the west end. That was 9 calls from my mobile! NINE! Argh... I love her so much. I actually fell in love the contestant! I have opinions on connie... Helena. I loved her.

I refuse to go and see the show now. :P

Feel free to vent your venom...

This rant comes from me working at Taco Bell for over 10 years.

Whenever a customer comes in to order and they stay to eat, we make what they order and then put it on a tray and set it on the counter and call their order number. They look at the receipt and then the food on the tray and say "Is this mine?". I've always wanted to say to them "Yeah, you ordered that didn't you."

Drive thru customers make me want to smack them. We greet them and sometimes they say nothing. So we say nothing back, maybe their making up their mind on what to order and then we hear "Hello!!" or "Are you there?"

I'm a manager so I really wouldn't do that, but you get what I am saying.

First of all... Good thread TR252 ;)

My boyfriend has two sisters, the kind that always find something wrong with their food. Well for thoose who didn't know I worked with them for about 6 months, I quit already by the way 3 days ago on wednesday lol. Anyway.... We were making tuna one time for lunch (me and this other co-worker there) when one of the sisters comes up and gets a salty cracker with tuna on it. " This tuna tastes too fishy" OMG! can you be serious, tuna is fish LMAO!!! I seriously felt like smacking her face. My second most hated quote from them would defenetly be the time when I was over at my boyfriends house becasue of his birthday and they bought KFC chicken. Well everybody was eating and then one of the sisters says: " The napkins smell bad" I serously felt like saying IS NOT LIKE YOUR GOING TO EAT THE DAMN NAPKIN!!! (sorry for the caps but I really needed to use them). There has been other stupid things theyve said but thoose two are my most hated simply becasue they are the stupidist.

I feel like I'm having one of thoose moments like that TV Show "That 70's Show.... where they all gather and talk like in a circle with the camara facing them Lol.

I work in a library. People return their books late, then yell at me because there's a fine. They say 'it's some kind of scam', 'they got jacked,' or even things I can't repeat. Oh, and my fav: my daughter must have taken those books out right before she died, because those aren't my books that were overdue. I mean, at first, I was so nice & like, 'aww, ok' when I heard stuff. But now, I see the same people running up $5 - $10 and coming up with a different excuse each time they want to check something out. I usually say 'ok, you can pay me next time,' then see them run up more $$ & want more stuff after they yell at me that the fine's not their fault. Today, nearly half of the people on the phone & in person were yellers. I mean, for pete's sake it's a library. Shhh!

if you rent a movie from Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, they charge you full rental price for each day you return the movie late ($3.79 or $3.99 per day?) and it can really add up.

my video stores charges $1 late charge for regular movies and $2 for adult movies;

but apparently there are some customers who thinks because WE ARE NOT Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, they can keep the movies for as long as they want and when they return them, and we tell them for EXAMPLE their late charge is $10 for 2 movies that are 5 days late (which at Blockbuster will be $40), they get irate with us and tell us to go to H**** and threatened to call the Police.

Some people are just idiots!!

It's a proven fact AJ=TR all the weird and angry people visit libraries. :lol:

I hate the ones (and we get several a day) that come in to use our public access PC's at the busiest times and complain when they can't get on immediately. We'll say there are none available for an hour or so and they always reply "but I only want a few minutes" - Whether they want 2 minutes or half an hour there is still nothing available for an hour or so am I cannot conjure places when there are none. Some have even argued that they pay their council tax and are entitled to use the service - when they want.

Then there's the darnright objectionable ones - I had an arguement with one yesterday because apparently my staff had the gall to let someone steal the newspaper he wanted to read. :wacko:

hehe I never worked in a public library only a corporate one, I didn't have to deal with people like that. :P

Anyways, cool thread, I have got plenty to rant about.... I have been trying to deal with a bully for a very long time who always tries to demean me and says bad things about me and for some reason it works! People do believe everything that he says about me and I don't know what to do about it. It's like he is a God or something. :rolleyes:

Ok rant #2... stupid, idiot, neighbors. I live in an apartment building and its an old building where you can hear a lot of stuff. Well, I wake up at about 6:30am every morning and the neighbors do not have to get up that early so I normally wake them up because the floor squeaks and the shower is loud (which are not my fault!). I know they are mad because I can hear them talking and they start making loud noises of their own to try to make my life as miserable as their life is. :rolleyes: But its like they get mad at me and they turn around and do the same thing.... do I complain like they do? No. Oh and another way they get back at me is to flush the toilet while I am in the shower. There is a couple who lives above me and they must flush their toilet 4 times during my shower! :wacko:

I get that all the time....not from Andrea though, obviously, lol.

Ok, It annoys me how the management at work can't construct a simple letter withough making numerous spelling and gramatical errors, that, amonst other things they do....just really bugs me, have they never heard of a spell check?....good job I'm out of there in a couple of weeks!

I'm glad I saw this rant thread today as I need it!

Continuing the fed up of work thing, I was so fed up at work today!

I usually get on with one of our receptionists but I have noticed how she thinks she is the boss and winds everyone up.

She sent me an e mail today saying 'You have not done X since X. Please action immediately'.

Bahhhh!

She also sends lots of e mails like 'I have noticed the paper towels have not been refilled. Could the last person who was in the toilet refill' etc etc and 'It disappoints me that X', 'my blue ballpoint pen has gone missing,' lots and lots of things like that constantly.

One lady staff was on the phone for 2 mins and she came over and said ' I need to be able to get hold of you' etc etc.

Bahh!!

I hate internet service providers!!

I've been with Warner Cable Roadrunner forever and because of some legal action that resulted from the bankruptcy of a smaller Broadband provider in my area, the courts have ruled that the territory that was originally covered by that bankrupt company in my area to be split between Warner Cable and Comcast.

Furthermore, Warner Cable in Houston will become Comcast and Comcast in Dallas Fort Worth will become Warner Cable: tell me if that makes any sense??

The service reliabilty has gotten worst since it became Comcast; in the last month, I experienced 2 service outtages resulting in needing a Comcast Technician to come out to my house.

The last time they were here 2 weeks ago, they left the internet router box on the side of my house uncovered and I have since called them 4 times and they created 4 separate service calls tickets;

oh and everytime I called, they told me on the phone that they will ESCALATE the service call.

If it takes them 2 weeks+ to take care of an ESCALATED service call, I hate to see how long an UNESCALATED service call takes!!

Finally, I got fed up with their broken promises, I went out there and bolted the cover back on myself last week.

We had major storm that passed through the area over the weekend and this morning, my internet service has been running at slower than 28k/sec.

I called Comcast and it's the same song:

Maybe it's you computer!!

No, it's not, my computer is fine!!

Have you tried shutting down the Cable Modem (which belongs to them) and rebooting? That always fix the problem!!

Yes I have and it Never fixes the problem!!

It's always the customer computer, it's never the ISP's fault!! Their equipment and service is soooo PERFECT!!

They tell me the earliest they can send a technician out is Wednesday between 12 pm and 5 pm.

I cannot live with this kind of slow service until Wednesday!!

In the meantime, I went out to the cable box and I took the cover off and I checked every wire and connections in there: I presume several of the neighbors cable and internet service go through that box.

I felt several connections and cable by touch with my bare hand and some of if were wet, probably from the rain.

I took a clean towel, unplugged each one and dried both the male and the female ends; the whole thing took almost 45 minutes and I doubt a Comcast technician would had done a better job.

I put the cable box cover back on, bolted it down, came back into the house and I shut down the computer and the cable modem and the router.

I let it sit there for 5 minutes and rebooted everything: guess what?

It's now running at 6,880 kb/s which according to the speed test website, it's 14% faster than Comcast Average cable connection:

Oh and my cable bill since Comcast took over? It has gone up by $13 per month plus another $6 tax for a total of $19 a month!!

I just called Comcast and I told them I fixed the problem myself and I will have my attorney send them a bill!!

Why do people drive so stupidly? Around here they cut you off, turn left from the right hand lane, ignore road signs and everything else. Its a wonder I'm still alive.

I was behind this guy in an expensive BMW (the $80,000+ kind) the other day;

the speed limit was 45, he was going 25!!

:angry:

So i decided to pass him on the left and guess what he does?

He pulls in front of me when I was almost to to his side on the left lane and slams on the brakes coming to a complete stop!!

Good Thing my car has the Accident Avoidance System or I would had rear ended him.

So afterward, I backed up in traffic and went around him on the right, he came up behind me real fast and passed me and pulled in front of me and started slowing down.

I tried to pass him again but everytime I did, he would cut in front of me.

We came up to the red light and he pulled up in the lane next to me and rolled down his driver's window and started cursing at me!!

There was a Houston Police Patrol Car sitting at the light too on the left turn lane right beside me, I honked at the Officer, rolled down the window and told him about this Moron next to me that almost got me killed.

So the Officer got out of the car and started talking to the idiot and made him get out of the car.

We found out later that the guy wasn't drunk or under the influence of anything; he said he didn't like anyone passing him because he was afraid that they made get too close to his GERMAN car and scratch it.

What a Moron!!

He was ticketed based on my promise that I will go to court and testify against him as a complainant and a witness; plus when I told the Officer I was a former HPD Officer (which they did look up on their system), who do you think they are going to believe?

Before I begin my Rant, quick thought for you J7: Direct TV!!!!!! You'll never do "Cable" again....LOL!!

Now for my Rant, one little word, one little animal: MOLES!!!

These tiny creatures have been making our lives miserable. What was our perfect lawn, when we moved in, is FAR from that now! They have made so many tunnels that the yard almost feels like jello. And as if that wasn't bad enough, those mounds of dirt they make look like small volcanos.

Our neighbors have been battling them too, but not nearly as bad. I assume we always will to some degree, as there is a golf course behind us. But after battling them for about a month with water hoses & other tools, we finally called in a "specialist", lol.

The spraying has helped alot, but i still want to jump up & down & SCREAM every time i see a new run or mound.

*Collects herself* ummmm, thanks, that's all for now..... *whew* I feel better!

Okay.. So i dont post unless I see something really really worth my while.. But it gives me a great way to vent somthing...

ALRIGHT *rolls up sleeves* this is what pisses me off the most...

So yesterday, I spend the whole friggin day on the phone with the customer service for dell. Why? WHY?!!? Beacuse I just *had* to buy a brand new xps system...

Never having a problem with dell, this computer I thought was going to be pretty good! Boy, do I need a refund on that thought...

*coughs* anyways.. so i spend a couple of days downloading a couple of my animation programs, such as maya 7 and lightwave.. so on so forth... Blah friggin blah blah..

And then all of a sudden, my computer starts shutting down every damn minute or so.....

*Growls* of course at this moment, like the second time this had happened, I was starting to get irritated..*Had already imagin'd myself throwing the computer out a 7 story window.. Granted, i dont live in a 7 story building, but i was going to find one* I kept loosing the saves and updates on my newest drawing.....

So..... What do you do in this situation I ask??

Call customer service...................................................... HA!

.

SO i get on the phone and call Dell's wonderful 24 hour customer service.... Wait 5 minutes... Please hold for the next available rep....

"thankyou for contacting dell customer service, this is rob how can i help you" Okay... WAIT! *pause*

So this guy.. From i dunno.. India.. iraq.. WHO CARES.. that line sounded like the guy from the kwickie mart, trying to sell me nachos.. at this point im thinking... YOUR NAME IS NOT ROB...?!? Just beacuse we cant prononunce your name ishabar-babba-gamish dosnt mean you have to pretend to have some 3 letter redneck name... IF YOU CANT SPEAK ENGLISH YOU SHOULDNT HAVE A PHONE... *thank you unpause*

So 5 minutes later after going through.. Is your computer plugged in? *no you idiot.. Im just retarded!?!* So on so forth...

After we had comfirmed the fact that I actually know what I am doing with my computer, and Im not like the rest of the 75% of the population who uses the cd drive as a coffee holder, and gets pissed off when it breaks.. *seriously, i used to work hp customer service*...........

he transferred me..

Alright at this point im fuming beacuse i cant understand half of what this guy has to say and he transferrs me.. Like thankyou for playing, we now know you can use our computers faithfully and were going to transferr you to sombody who has some idea what their doing...

Excuse me? WHAT?! He sounds like he had to hawk a lugie.. Cant you imagin HAAAGH.. LOL... 45 minutes later.. after asking me the same questions he had to transfer me again...

*pause* okay at this point i have spend 45 minutes with the one guy and over 30 minutes with the other guy.. OMG..seriously stop OUTSOURCING your CUSTOMER SERVICE!!?! *wanted to reach through the phone and smack them all*

so next this guy.. who was worst than the two put together answers the phone.. My control snapped.. Seriously...

"i cant believe you dont know how to speak decent english?! We know your name is not a 3 letter word of rob bob or whatever.. I dont care.. LET ME SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH!>?"

I do english..

ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......................"look mister india kwickie mart guy, you do speak no english... comprende?! TRANSFER ME TO ENGLISH!!!!"

At this point he sounded like he stood up where he was sitting.. and started yelling *without the mute button mind you* in his language.. for all i care they could of been making fun of me.. I dont know.. IF I DID KNOW I WOULDNT BE IN MY SITUATION NOW WOULD I?!!?

Then he asked me to hld....

And hld...

and hld...

35 minutes of hlding the phone disconnected.../

I GOT SO MAD, i threw my cordless phone across the room....

So here's my suggestion.. People who do not speak english should NOT have a phone.. or be allowed near a phone.. If they have to call, they need translater's... PERIOD...

that is the problem nowadays with all these American companies outsourcing to foreign country, how can they provide any kind of customer service if the people they hire in the other countries can't speak decent English?

I called Microsoft Support one time for my friend who had problem with his Windows XP and the person on the other end was a lady in India (I asked her where she was and she told me she was in India) and I couldn't understand one word she said.

I spent more time trying to understand what she was saying and constantly asking her to repeat herself than addressing the problem with Windows on hand and fixing it.

I hear Burger King or McD*onalds's is considering of outsourcing their drive thru service to a central call center in a foreign country.

So next time you go through the drive through, you may be talking to someone in India sitting in front of a computer terminal who will take your food order and send it to the restaurant you are at (hopefully they will send it to the correct restaurant).

Well Angelaian, you don't like Moles and I don't like Rabbits in my yard.

Me having Rabbits in my yard is exactly as bad as you having Moles in your yard.

You may find Rabbits cute but I don't and I know exactly how you feel to find your yard, which you spent time and sweat and work and money to keep it up, destroyed by critters regardless of how cute they are!!

I have officially said goodbye to Time Warner/Comcast Internet Service and Cable TV Service; after years of putting up with their crappy unstable service.

As of yesterday, I am now on Fiber Optic service.

My Internet Speed with Time Warner/Comcast was:

6576 Kbps or 6.6 Mbps download

400 Kbps or 0.4 Mbps upload

The new speed is now:

37,690 Kbps or 37.6 Mbps download

1700 Kbps or 1.7 Mbps upload

I just downloaded a 302 MB movie trailer in 9 seconds!!

Why the meekrob did I decide to do a degree in Software Development. It's the worst subject ever and Sun Microsystems can, quite frankly, fpihfsdiugf off. Algorithmic design is a load of tosser.gif and flowcharts were designed by Satan and Microsoft in partnership, to make a time consuming process take longer.

You all think you've dealt with some dumb people, then you've not been through the drive thru at the Taco Bell I work at. All to often I am the one working the DT window late night. I'll greet the customers "Hi, how are you today?" sometimes I don't get a response, I wait a few seconds and repeat my greeting. Its then I hear "Wait a minute please." or "Hold on a moment." sometimes I greet and I get a "Excuse me!". But most of the time I am put on hold its because people can't seem to stop talking on their darned CELL PHONES!!!! :angry2::angry2: and our headsets don't cut out so we're hearing what they are saying. I've always wanted to tell these people "Hey, we can hear you talking out there." but I don't say anything because that may come across as being rude.

Another thing is when a customer asks how much an item is. I mean the menu board is only a couple feet away outside at the speaker post. If they can't see that, why are they even driving in the first place? :huh:

Speaking of driving, I can't stand people that will make turns and not bother to signal them. I sat a stop sign once to make a left turn and waited for several cars to go by. Now the last one comes and I don't see anyone coming that way behind them, but there is a car coming the opposite way and I can still make it if this car gets by. I get ready to pull out, but the other car is still coming and then at the last second they turn right and I stop because I'm thinking they're still coming and then I end up waiting for that other car to go by to make my turn. Is it that hard to push up a lever :huh::huh:

OMG!!!!! I HATE this too!!!!

Especially people who make turns at the last possible second without signaling......grrrrrrr!!!!

how about you come up to the intersection and you want to make a right turn;

there is a car in front of you and he doesn't turn (in Texas you can make a right turn on red as long as you come to a complete stop first and as long as it's safe to turn);

then when the light turns green, he finally makes the turn which he could had done a couple of minutes earlier

OR

then when the light turns green, he goes straight; if you are not gonna make a right turn, DO NOT hold up the right lane, get in the CENTER lane
