Raiderchick
Hey guys, remember me? Anyway, I'm playing the PS2 and I seem to have encountered a bug. Well, first of all: Towards the end of Coliseum, I hit the checkpoint at the top of the balcony roof (before the grapple swing bit) for the second time, and saved again. Then I died so I tried to reload, and the screen went black as it does right before the loading screen, however this did not appear. I reset the PS2 and again, just black. So I took out the disc, cleaned it up a bit, put it back in and it worked fine, to the end of the level, however the last two sets of bats did not appear, the ones on the roof, and the ones on the stairs at the end. Secondly, as I entered Palace Midas, after killing the gorillas, I could hear the PS2 making funny sounds which I didn't like. It let me keep playing normally otherwise, though. I flipped the switch on the back of the statue to open the first door. I dropped down and went through the door, but a little while along there was a totally grey wall in front of me, obviously a programming glitch. As I tried to make Lara run into it to see what would happen, the game froze, so I turned it off. Has anyone else encountered any bugs at this point in the game? I'm terrified of trying to keep playing in case the game fully stuffs up. Can anyone help? Thanks!! Oh, also, I got all the Artifacts in St. Francis' Folly and Coliseum, but it didn't give me any special rewards. Not all of the kills registered, though, for some reason. Does this count? Do you have to get all the kills AND Artifacts in order to receive bonus content?
Guested Account
I didn't have any bugs in Colosseum but I did get all the artifacts and relics in Palace Midas and it didn't unlock anything and I wonder if that's correct!!
Shrensh
I've heard of the grey wall thing before; apparently it appears to prevent you from entering an area that hasn't fully loaded yet. Once the area is loaded properly it's supposed to disappear. I don't know about your other problems though... I don't have a PS2 and I haven't encountered any bugs yet while playing on PC. Raiderchick
Oh, so what do I do? Wait til the PS2 stops making funny noises and gets its act together? Did anyone else get any rewards after St. Francis' Folly and Coliseum after getting all the Artifacts?
Raekwon
One thing I've disocvered is, if you get all the artifacts and relics, and then quit out before the end of the level, it will have unlocked the new things already. Then when you carry on playing and get to the end of the level, the 'unlocks' box will be blank because the things are already unlocked. I'm pretty sure this is what happens, anyhow. In a few places I've come across a bug where you can fall through the walls and fall out of the level into 'nothingness'.. she just keeps falling forever. I saw it happen to panther too in the Tomb of Theocan. Has anyone else had that?
BPanther
*endless scream* very cool effect!!!
Raiderchick
Grrr, ok I'm having SERIOUS problems with TRA! Every bleedin' time the game is about to load, it freezes. The ONLY way I can make the game work is to turn the whole PS2 off, leave it for a while, then turn it back on. Can you imagine doing this every time Lara dies? I don't know if it's the game or the PS2 but I NEED HELP!!
Phantom_2040
Hmm. That's odd. If you have canned air, try taking that to your PS2 now and then. Clean it out as thoroughly as you can, and see how that helps. Every vent, every part of the inside you can reach through the open tray, and everything else. If that doesn't help, I have no idea. Sounds like a hardware problem, as in something you might need to get checked out.
Raiderchick
Hmm, you could be right. I was thinking about vacuuming it out and see how that does. What do you mean by canned air?
Phantom_2040
Compressed air in a can, something like this. Stores of all kinds sell it, from myriad on-line stores like NewEgg, to retail chains such as Target, Wall*Mart, and whatever else, to actual computer stores. Raekwon
Have you had any problems with any other games? It's hard to know where the problem's coming from but like Phantom said.. the fact that you need to leave the PS2 off for a while each time makes it sounds suspiciously like a hardware problem. Only other thing I can think of trying is swapping the CD at the shop you bought it but I'm not confident that it'd help much to be honest.. Hopefully cleaning out the PS2 works! Raiderchick
Good news everyone! Turns out it wasn't my CD, but my PS2 that wasn't working, it isn't reading any of my PS2 discs, the laser must be stuffed. Anyway, I rang Sony and shipped my PS2 off to get fixed, so when it comes back all my problems should be solved! Thanks for all the help tho, guys!
