Guested Account
and I can't even imagine what its like in all the retail stores chaos, total chaos and human beings reduced to barbaric savages fighting for merchandise; most of it not worth owning but they want it because it's $29 instead of $150, etc

(business was actually good this year but I won't know for sure until the final reports on Sunday night and it doesn't matter how we do this weekend in sales; what matters is will it hold up through December 24th?!?) Guested Account
Another Black Friday has come and gone for me. The main difference of this one,The sales started at Midnight. Yup, My wife made me go to Wal Mart at midnight because you guys had kids thermal jackets for $12 and 500 thread count bed sheets for $19.88 and a Crock Pot for $7 and a Food Chopper for $2.97!! So I am now living on 2 hrs sleep since Wednesday Night to Thursday Morning!! Damn Wal Mart!! Even the upper store management was there last night at 10pm and will probably be there most of the day today. I don't understand that part! I am "Upper Store Management" at my stores; remind me again why I have to work today instead of being at home?!? Guested Account
Wal Mart Said they open at 10pm and they had advertised specials that started selling at 10pm! NOT TRUE! My friend said he went to Wal Mart at 9:58pm and the store was ALREADY OPEN and there was a mob of shoppers inside it. He said there were so many people, you couldn't even walk from aisle to aisle. The parking lot was so full, people were parking anywhere they wanted to; even when there were no parking spaces. FURTHERMORE, Everything that was supposed to be for sale starting at 10pm was GONE ALREADY!! One of the employee told him they opened the store at 9pm INSTEAD of 10pm so the customers that went in at 9pm, they took down the ropes that cordoned off the 10pm sales items and cleaned them out. They also cut through the shipping tapes around the pallets of the boxes and boxes of 10pm sales item. NO Employees tried to stop them!! THIS IS NOT FAIR to the people that went to Wal Mart at 10pm expecting to buy those items just to find out they been gone for 1 hr already!! SO THOSE 9PM customers were walking around the store with their 10pm Sales Items for 1 hr, waiting for 10pm, BECAUSE the price on them don't change to the 10pm sales prices on the POS System until 10pm!! We advertised we open at 4am with specials sales starting at 4am. We didn't open our door early and let people buy early! Why did Wal Mart? WAL MART SUCKS!! Gia@LCO
Walmart was open all day yesterday. The only day they actually close and lock the doors is Christmas day.
Guested Account
Walmart was open all day yesterday. The only day they actually close and lock the doors is Christmas day. then they should had kept the sales stuff in the back until 10pm and made people lined up in the different departments for it and give out tickets, with Police Officers or Security Guards for crowd control; and then roll out the sales merchandise at 10pm. We are a small retail stores and we don't have the money Wal Mart has but we have 6 Police Officers doing security at each store all day long. We haven't had any riots or fist fights and people were lined up properly outside before we opened. Here's more Wal Mart mess: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/11/at-wal-mart-pepper-spray-attack-triggered-chaos-screaming.html If you go to Wal Mart Facebook page and read the comments there; there has been many other incidents at their stores nationwide. Guested Account
No Violence or Skirmishes or Fist Fights or Shootout at any of my stores!! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/11/25/black-friday-violence-reported-at-stores-across-country/ Thank God!! It's just a sale, no reason to resort to that kind of behavior! Are we not civilized Humans?!? Well folks, we have been open for 14+ hrs and the crowds been bigger and steadier than they year before; but sales been staying at about the same or slightly below compared to the previous year. Many people are just out to look and that's understandable considering that the unemployment rate in the USA is now about 26%, not the 9% the government tells you. I've been up since 1am last night with only 4 hrs sleep in the last 24 hrs and we still have 5 more hrs to go before we go home. Here's some photos I gathered from around the internet about Black Friday 2011! Once again, just like the past 4 years, 2 of these photos were taken at my stores. Guested Account
166 hrs from now I will be at one of my stores for Black Friday again.... oh no! UGH! This year's hottest toys for boys and girls: http://money.cnn.com...toys/index.html http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=B007J3F9IY http://www.toysrus.c...ductId=13265885 (TABEO sold only at Toys "R" Us, available 11/21) and of course, the one thing everyone is going to kill each other over this year: Wii U not available until this Sunday, 11/18 and if you didn't pre-order one with a paid deposit, good luck trying to get one on that day, the day after, on Black Friday, on Christmas eve, etc Seriously! It's that popular! It's not Black Friday or the Christmas if there isn't an electronic gadget people will fight over! Morph
James, you'll have people heeling each other to get their hands on one of those Wii U's. Have your stores been taking pre-orders for them?
Guested Account
James, you'll have people heeling each other to get their hands on one of those Wii U's. Have your stores been taking pre-orders for them? Yes we been taking pre-orders for the 8GB and 32GB units with a $50 deposit; we have many units on order but there is no guarantee Nintendo will send us everything we ordered (I hope they do); we've ordered stock to cover the pre-orders and also for the people who will try to get one between now and Christmas without a pre-order. It's nuts! Every year it's something!! In the Previous years it was the Wii and then the Playstation 3 and the XBox 360 and the Playstation 2 and the XBox and the Nintendo DS and the Sony Vita and the Sony PSP (which didn't do well).... UGH! Well, it puts food in my 5 Angels' little tummies! Edited November 16, 2012 by J7Dadda
Morph
Haha. That's right, you think of those gorgeous kids of yours during the rush. It will be mad, EB Games has set the pre-order cut off day as November 18th for the Wii U. They're still taking orders after that date, but they're not guaranteed. Guested Account
The Wii U s came in today. They are under lock in the steel vaults of my stores. Some stores like Best Buy will hold after midnight events tomorrow night (12:01 am Sunday morning) at a few select stores across the U.S. so the customers who have prepaid orders can pick them up. We won't be doing that. People with prepaid orders and without, will just have to wait until 10 am on Sunday morning to get them.
Guested Account
All the WII U were sold on Sunday. You can't find one anywhere at the retail price. Amazon.com approved resellers have them but be ready to pay as much as double the price for one.
Tom@LCO
i hardly use my Wii so I'll pass lol
Guested Account
I don't like the Wii because I have to stand up and actually move around. Video Game consoles were invented for one reason and one reason only: so we can be couch potatoes and vegetate for hours in the same position! Stand up and move your arms and legs with the Wii? Good luck! It's the same principle as the remote control. So you don't have to get up to walk to the front of the TV and other electronics equipment. They even make an AC thermostat now with a remote control. That's so cool!
Morph
Ahhh, where would we be without infra-red and bluetooth technology, lol. The Wii U isn't released here until the end of the month, so we still have a couple of weeks to go. I hope people are buying the 32GB version instead of the 8GB -- there's a massive 5GB firmware update for the console already!
