I tried to get tickets a week ago and all the matinees for today and tomorrow and Sunday and last night's showings were either sold out or only have crappy seats left. I hate this you have to buy the tickets in advance and reserve your seats at the same time system they have now for AMC and Cinemark. I got my tickets at the theater box office when I got there 2 hours early. I was expecting a decent size crowd but not so big for the 3D showings. I always go for 3D. There was a pretty good turnout for both 2D & 3D. Yet we still had plenty of seats still available. We don't have reserve seating around here. They are all first come- first served. You have to show up early to get a good seat. Most of the theaters around here are AMC now. .
Tom@LCO
went to the theater and got them... also D-Box are assigned seats they move with the action. Guarantees you a good seat
Guested Account
Only reserved seating purchased in advance online here now. You can't no longer spur of the moment let's go to a movie and show up and buy tickets and pick any seats you want and be able to move and change seats if you don't like them or have noisy people around you or someone with a 10 gallon hat in front of you. I have tickets for The Last Jedi for next Tuesday for the regular Dolby Digital 2D NON-3D NON-XD NON-ATMOS NON-IMAX show for $5.50 all day Tuesday every Tuesdays special price. Guested Account
The Snowman (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1758810/ This is based on a best selling thriller novel by a Norwegian author. I have never read the book but from researching it online, it's a well reviewed top notch thriller and it's also an entry in a series of crime novels starring the same character that's in this movie: Harry Hole, an alcoholic police inspector. Well if everything that's written about the book it's based on is true, this movie doesn't even come close to its original source. There are 3 persons listed in the screenwriting credit and it seems that each one wrote a screenplay pertaining to a different aspect of the movie: 1 part is the ongoing investigation going back years of missing women, another part is Inspector Harry Hole's relationship with his enstranged son, another part is anything that screenwriter who had a hand in it decided to add to the story and seemingly he didn't check with the other 2 screenwriters to make sure his part flowed with the rest and had continuity. Then it also seems 3 different unit directors shot the different scenes from the 3 different screenplays. There are characters that show up one minute never to be seen again. There are scenes of someone going into a building and you never seen that someone before and after and nothing was ever followed up on it: Who was that person? Why did they go into that building? Who was the person in the building that opened the door to let them in? How does that fits into the story and does it have any relation to the missing women? Then there seems to be parts missing. One minute you see one of the main character standing somewhere looking at something in the snow (which was not shown) and then in the next scene that same character is in a car driving off. Okay, I don't need to see everything that happens like they walking from where they were standing to the car to seeing them opening the car door with a key and then getting into it and then starting the car, etc, etc but where were they where they standing at, what were they doing there, and what happened between the time they stood there and they drove off. Furthermore, for a thriller about a serial killer leaving clues, with a snowman after each killing, this movie has no tension, no suspense, no grab you by the chin to keep you interested and when we finally get to the final act, it's just felt thrown in at random because someone in the production crew said: hey, let's wrap it up. This is a Norway-UK-USA production and you can tell, produced by Martin Scorsese, directed by acclaimed Norwegian director famous for 2008's "Let the Right One In", starring a talented cast including Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Chloë Sevigny, James D'Arcy, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Swedish actor Jonas Karlsson. But they are not given much to do or work with onscreen. Digital Spy website just named this one of the 10 worse films of 2017. Rotten Tomatoes has many negative reviews including these that pretty much express the same sentiments I have about it: Quote Choppy, incoherent and dull, The Snowman is one of the worst films of the year. Not a single scene works as anything more than a total waste of good film. Even Fassbender's typically intense and well-schooled performance can't elevate this muddled mess from the mundane. [The Snowman] is two hours of uninterrupted, snow-caked boredom. How can a movie with such a great trailer go so wrong? Doesn't anyone take any pride in their work anymore? 0/5 Edited December 16, 2017 by j7wild
Guested Account
My umpteenth viewing of the Best Christmas movie ever made and also quite possibly the most perfect flawless action movie ever made!! Die Hard (1988) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095016/ NYPD officer John McLane only wanted to spend Christmas with his wife and beloved children but a bunch of terrorists want to ruin his plans. That is the problem with terrorists. They're really inconsiderate when it comes to people's schedules. 5/5 Next on my Best Christmas movies viewing list: Lethal Weapon
Tom@LCO
I never considered it a Christmas movie but I can understand by the time of the season and music it could be. It's a wonderful Life doesn't reference Christmas until the end. My fave is Scrooge 1951 version with Alistair Sim. Hum Bug!
Guested Account
I saw this preview trailer today in front of the Star Wars movie. I am not into Japanese manga. Couldn't even tell you which ones are popular or famous or even name half a dozen of them, etc. But this looks interesting.
Tom@LCO
I saw that too... Looks interesting and somewhat original like a peak into the future of robotics with a twist. James Cameron's name is on it so IMO it will be good.
Hardkore
Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle (2017) 4 teenagers end up playing a video game called Jumanji get sucked into the game. They play the game to survive on an island. Ok,first off it is a sequel to the original as it shows the original board game/box at the beginning before things change. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Guested Account
Justice League (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0974015/ A messy incoherent confusing cacophony of noise and over use of CGI and SFX featuring a villain that never once in the film's nearly 2 hours running time made me fear the world was at risk. Another celluloid failure by director Zack Snyder, who hasn't directed anything worthwhile and watchable since "300" and "Sucker Punch" The only reason I would recommend this movie is to watch the beautiful and awesome Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. 1/
Tom@LCO
I totally agree. The movie wasn't worth anything other than her part in it. Has a 7.1 rating which makes me wonder pardon the pun.

Guested Account
Lethal Weapon (1987) 2nd Best Christmas movie ever made next to Die Hard. How is this a Christmas movie, you ask? Look how many times they said Merry Christmas! Can you believe this movie is 30 years old already? 5/5 I still have one more "Best Christmas movie ever made" [next to Die Hard and Lethal Weapon] I will be watching this week and will report back. p.s. The girl that jumped to her death at the beginning is played by the same actress who went on to play Kelly Gaines, Woody Harrelson's girlfriend in Cheers. Imagine that! She did her own jump stunt. That's actually a large airbag with the cars and curb and pavement painted on it. Edited December 27, 2017 by j7wild
Guested Account
I, Tonya (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5580036/ The story of Olympics figure skater Tonya Harding and her fall from grace. She was the first US woman to do a triple Axle in a competition and also in the Olympics and the first woman to do a double triple Axle in the same skating routine. Gone Daddy Gone 2. The Passenger 3. Devil Woman 4. Romeo And Juliet 5. Fair to Love Me 6. A Fair Shot 7. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart 8. The Incident 9. Tonya Suite 10. Goodbye Stranger 11. Gloria 12. Shooting Star 13. Free Your Mind 14. Barracuda 15. Dream a Little Dream of Me (with Paul Weston & His Music from Hollywood) 16. Guested Account
Gremlins (1984) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087363 My 3rd and final choice for best Christmas movie ever made, next to Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. Small town boy Billy Peltzer only wanted to have a quiet Christmas with his family and his girlfriend, Kate. Instead he and Kate are fighting for their very lives in an effort to save Christmas from the town's Lady Scrooge and a horde of rude creatures, both hell bent on destroying everything that's pure and wonderful about Christmas. After all, who doesn't love the spending Holidays with Gizmo and Woof Woof? 5/5 Edited December 31, 2017 by j7wild

Guested Account
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5027774/ There are 3 old decrepit abandoned billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. No one has used them since 1986 until Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) comes along and rents them to display a series of messages against the town's police and its police chief (Woody Harrelson) for failing to find the killer or killers of her teenage daughter, 7 months prior. A deep moving sad and beautiful dark comedy. Frances McDormand should get her second Academy Awards nomination for Best Actress since she won it in 1997 for Fargo. Woody Harrelson also deserves an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Sam Rockwell shines in his role as the town's idiot cop and his acting deserves an Oscar too. The rest of the cast is equally stellar: Abbie Cornish, Caleb Landry Jones, Zeljko Ivanek, Lucas Hedges, Peter Dinklage. 5/

Guested Account
Jigsaw (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3348730/ I won't give the plot and its twists away: once you've watch this yourself, you will agree with me that not only is this latest entry, 7 years since the last movie, unnecessary because it doesn't bring anything new to the franchise but also because the trailer was misleading and deceitful. 1/
Guested Account
Acts of Violence (2018) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6684714/ 1/5 Another entry in a recent long strings of low budget movies that Bruce Willis has been starring in: they all will get a theatrical release in a couple of cities and then they goes to DVD and VOD. I checked my local listings and there is only one theater in this city of millions and 600 square miles showing it. If you look at Bruce Willis' IMDB info, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000246 All these are low budget junk: First Kill (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5884234 Once Upon A Time In Venice (2017) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4694544 Marauders (2016) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3963816 Precious Cargo (2016) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4651410 Extraction (2015) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4382872 Vice (2015) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3480796 The Prince (2014) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1085492 Fire with Fire (2012) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1925431 If you go deeper and look at the long list of the many producers listed under each movie, they are mostly all the same ones and they also involved in this Acts Of Violence movie. Bruce Willis couldn't be that hard up for money to make these low budget direct to video crap? How much does he get for starring in each one of these movies? $200,000? $500,000? I doubt he even gets that much considering $500,000 will be a large chunk of the entire budget for each one of these movies. Looks like if Bruce Willis is not making a Die Hard movie and getting a multi-million dollars paycheck, he doesn't have much else to do. Outside of the last 2 Die Hard films in 2007 and 2013, he made two RED movies which were good and then he had a few starring roles, major and minor in films such as The Expendables series, Planet Terror, G.I. Joe and the rest were nothing to write home about. Must sucks to be forever typecast in the same role.
