LCO NFL Fantalk 2008

I'm glad that the rules changed for games in overtime. For many years i watched games that were ended with just a field goal, and the opposing team never got a chance. But today i can say i saw a first as a Panthers fan, a game that ended in a tie with the Bengals. 37-37. Both teams put up incredible numbers on offense. Cam Newton passed for 2 TD's and ran for one, he also had 100+ yards rushing.

Looking forward to next week for that win, Panthers can make it 3 wins over the NFC north against the Packers

I know that in the playoffs, when a game goes into OT they play on until a team wins. That's what the NFL should do in regular season.

I bet those idiots with the Indianapolis Colts are kicking each other now for letting Peyton Manning go the one and only time he got hurt in his entire Colt career and had to stay out a year, way to show gratitude toward the man who lead the Colts to eleven postseason appearances, with nine consecutive appearances from 2002 to 2010. The Colts won eight division titles during this time along with two conference championships in 2006 and 2009 and 2 Superbowls!

I guess the point I was trying to illustrate was that you have done so much for the team and the only one time you let the team down and everything you have done is forgotten and you are remembered for that one bad thing: not being able to play and have to sit out the season.

So they let you go and I think that is very heartless!

American businesses are like that:

we are family here. We have an open door policy. We will take care of you.

But first time their profit or bottom line is on the line for something you did or couldn't/didn't do, you are out of the door!

It's the same as marriage.

For better or for worse? In health and in sickness?

HELL NO!

Not for all the couples who took those vows and married and then divorced!

First fight! First disagreement! First time you had money problems...

And it's I WANT A DIVORCE!

Panthers treated Steve Smith badly after last season. Steve was willing to negotiate his contract, he even wanted to be paid less to stay. Steve did a lot of things around Charlotte, for the kids even more. But that fathead GM Dave Gettleman didn't want to work with Steve at all. So the front office sent Steve packing.

But even after all that, Steve still wants to come back to retire as a Panther.

You darn right he got his revenge. Steve has a better chance at getting a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens, Joe Flacco is on a roll this season.

Panthers lost to the Eagles on monday night 45-21, The D couldn't get to Mark Sanchez and the Panthers turning the ball over on the first two possessions didn't help either. I think after this season is over, there won't be any primetime games next season. Right now the Panthers are 3-6-1, even if they win out, a 9-6-1 record won't get them in. Panthers should just focus to next season, but try to win a few more games this season.

Panthers QB Cam Newton was in a car accident yesterday, he suffered a traverse fracture in his lower back. Same injury that Cowboys QB Tony Romo had, only he fractured one. I think the Panthers as a team should let Cam rest and heal up. He's been through a lot this season. Here's an article off the Panthers website, about the car accident as i had mentioned http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Newton-in-fair-condition-following-car-accident/693ea916-f0db-42d3-a73f-1c6942e122a9

Panthers 34, Falcons 3

ATLANTA – With their dominant 34-3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome, the Carolina Panthers have become the first team in NFC South history to claim the division title in consecutive years.

As a result of their fourth straight victory to close the season, Carolina will host a NFC Wild Card Playoff next weekend.

Tight end Ed Dicksonicon-article-link.gif’s first touchdown catch of the season gave the Panthers a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter.

A 21-yard Matt Bryant field goal cut the Falcons’ deficit to seven, but the Carolina defense recorded two takeaways in the second quarter to help extend the lead.

Safety Roman Harpericon-article-link.gif intercepted Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and returned it 31 yards for a touchdown – Carolina’s first defensive score of the season. Later, rookie linebacker Adarius Glantonicon-article-link.gif stripped the ball from Falcons wide receiver Roddy White. Fellow linebacker Thomas Davisicon-article-link.gif made the recovery and allowed the Panthers offense to take over at the Atlanta 4-yard line.

On the next play, quarterback Cam Newtonicon-article-link.gif rushed up middle for a 4-yard touchdown.

Graham Ganoicon-article-link.gif gave Carolina a 27-3 lead with a 48-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Later in the third quarter, rookie safety Tre Bostonicon-article-link.gif intercepted Ryan’s fourth-down pass for wide receiver Harry Douglas and returned it 84 yards for a touchdown.

Congratulation to the Carolina Panthers for beating the Arizona Cardinals in today's NFC Wild Card game and advancing to next week's Divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks or the Green Bay Packers.

New England in the Super Bowl again????

I am tired of seeing them in the Super Bowl!

I'm going to pull for Seattle, i'd rather see a NFC team win and repeat.

I don't understand that botched up onside kick recovery by Green Bay.

If that Green Bay player that screwed it up and none of his team mates had recovered that ball after the Seattle kicker kicked it and it had traveled 10 yards, wouldn't a Seattle player still CAN recover it if it didn't go out of bounds?

They have been caught cheating before. For each time they were caught cheating, there are at least 10 times they weren't caught. Cheaters will be Cheaters. it's just like thieves. For each time a person is caught stealing, there will be 10 times he wasn't caught before he was caught. I have been saying for years, long before they were caught cheating in 2007, that the Patriots cheat to win games. Take away their AFC Championship victory, fine the owner, the coaches and Tom Brady. Ban them from playing in playoffs games for 5 years even if they have a winning records. Give the Superbowl match up to the Colts!

I will root for the lesser of two evil.

Go Seattle!

But that doesn't mean I have forgotten nor forgiven Seattle for what they did to my Broncos last year!
