Mike Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I've been running it for 9 months and absolutely LOVE it. I had to work on a computer just recently that had Windows XP on it and I was so lost on it! LOL! The good news is that anything that works with Windows Vista (drivers, software, hardware) will work for Win7! Not like the XP --> Vista nightmare, that was mainly the the 3rd party companies fault for not getting drivers ready. MS has made sure of compatibility by not changing the kernel version number to reflect the actual version. For example, Windows XP is 5.1 and Vista is 6.0 -- which causes a lot of things to break. Windows 7 is not going to be 7.0, but 6.1. I've read on tech forums/sites that even OLDER computers (Pentium 4, 512MB RAM etc) actually run 7 better than Vista or even XP. Since XP support will be ending soon, that's good news for people with older computers. See if you're ready! Quote
BPanther Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I've been using it too, since it came out. It's not easy to network with other computers using XP or Vista but I love it too. Looking forward to the final version. BPanther Quote
AngelR Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I've heard lots of good reports on this. We've just had a new pc which came with upgrade to 7. Quote
Blade Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I got a new computer about a month ago and it came with Windows 7 already installed. I just had to plug in the keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor and the power supply. I was really amazed at how Windows 7 recognized the wireless USB modem i use so fast and set it up in less than a minute. I was on my way to web surfing again in no time. Quote
Shrensh Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 I got a new computer recently that came with Windows 7 too. So far I like it a lot, though one of the first things I did was disable those annoying user account notification things. I also changed the task bar so that it work in the same way as the XP task bar. I tried to like the new Windows 7 taskbar, but I just couldn't. It drove me mental I'm impressed with the way it found new drivers online for some of my hardware when the drivers on the installation CDs weren't compatible with Windows 7, and I like how my folders are much more easily accessible than with WinXP. All in all, I'm happy with the upgrade Quote
