akyles
Hi, in these last years i've bought Lara Croft anniversary and also lara croft legend and underworld for PS2. I have problems playing Lara croft anniversary, when i first bought it i was able to completed the game and get the relics and artifcats, then i stoped to ply this game because i had more things to do. A year passed and I wanted to play it again but when i turned on the PS2 the initial movie started to run but then the screen stays black 4ever. I deleted my LC anniversary saves from my 8Mb memory card and then i was able to access the menu to select my saved games (i had none because i deleted them from memory card) i decided to make a new save when i chose to save an information came up: please dont remover ur memory card blablabla... i left it saving for like 4 hours and it didnt, the music also turned repetitive. I restarted my PS2 and in the saves menu i saw a "Corrupted Save", i deleted it and then i came back to main menu and selected Start game, the screen went black but after 30 minutes or so it loaded the first level in an icy mountain with lara's spanish guide or something like that, i completed the level and then i was asked to save i did it and i noticed, again, than the sound started to be repetitive again. Can some one help me fix this? i really want to play the game again but i dont want to buy it again :< Thx... Morph
Hello Akyles, and welcome to LCO. This sounds like a read issue to me. What is the condition of the disc? Has your PS2 been unused for a long time?
akyles
Thank you. The disc is a litle bit scratched but not much, like the other ones i have, and about the PS2 usage it hasn't been used for a maximum of 1 month. By the way i can play my LC Legend and LC Underworld whidout any kind of problems the saving seems to be okay, my other games also don't show any kind of problems. Morph
If there are only light scratches on the plastic film of the disc, you could perhaps try a home remedy to polish it. I once used a toothpaste on one of my friends' discs as a fix and it worked after that. If you do try this, please make sure that it is a non-abrasive toothpaste, and use warm water to remove the paste afterwards.
akyles
For how much time should i leave the toothpaste on the disc?
Morph
All you have to do is wipe it on, then wipe it off again.

Morph
Sorry to see it didn't work for you. I don't have any more tips personally, but I found this: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/7-bizarre-home-remedies-that-r-152502 Are any of the scratches deep at all? Deep scratches can corrupt the data of the disc.
akyles
I'm not 100% sure if some are deep or not but i guess they arent x.x
Morph
Perhaps you could borrow another copy of the disc and see if it works? Just to narrow it down to most likely being corrupt data.
akyles
Oki will, by the way what if i copy the content to another disk and use it? would it work?
Morph
I'm honestly not sure if it would or not. If it is a case of corrupt disc data, then a direct copy may be the same. It's something you could give a go though if you'd like to.
