The first time I have ever heard of Tomb Raider was the movies.I had seen them both and thought they were really good.

Then the summer of 2005 my sister and I had borrowed my friends playstation2 and decided to go to Jumbo Video to rent some games.

When there,there were no games "suitible" for my younger sister so she just gave up and rented a movie,I on the other hand kept on looking.

I seen the title jump out at me: "Lara Croft:Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness".

When I first seen the game I was like "Ohh they made a game from the movie!"

After a week of playing it I was addicted,and since I was new to playing a PS2 I wasnt very far.

I searched the game title in google to find a walkthrough and I found the site "TOMB RAIDER CHRONICLES" and found out that the game wasnt based on the movies but the game series is what made the movies.

Anyways thats how I found out TR what about you guys?

I actually rented the first TR at Blockbuster Video when I had a PS...I made it about halfway through the game and I eventually bought it so I could finish it. After that I was going to the stores looking for the next TR game and TR 2 came out a year later and I had something new to play again.

After TR Chronicles however there were no new TR games. It wasn't until I saw the first TR movie that I got back into playing and I bought Angel of Darkness (not new though, got it at EB for less than $10.) and although the controls weren't as good as the previous games, I managed to fly through this game in about a week the first time I played it.

I bought TR: Legend and although this game wasn't as long as the previous games, I still found it enjoyable.

first herd of it wen it was on sega thought it looked good and got it with ps1 wen it first came out in 1996. but who cares really lol

i beleave it was about 1997 for me, i was 8 years old and my brother got his PlayStation beggining of 1997.

my brother told me there was this new game for rent called Tomb Raider (i think that was a little while before TR 2 was released) and he said to me "hey maby that's something you might like" because he only had racing games like need for speed... i didn't like those games back then.

i didn't rent the game just yet but i did like the sound of the name of that game. when TR 2 was released i went to stores and bought all kind of game magazines cause i was really curious about the game, and after seeing pictures of Lara i got really interested by this game figure (i could only watch at the screenshots and the pictures of Lara cause i got most magazines in English and i didn't knew any English at all)

in December 1998 i rented TR 3 and emedietly after just started the game i totally fell in love with TR and Lara... after that i rented the game over and over again. a coupple of months later i was walking on the market in my town and i saw a stand with PlayStation games and there i found TR 3 for 1/3 of the price it was in stores. i asked my dad if he wanted to give me some extra money with the money i allready had so i could buy the game and he said okey so TR 3 was my first TR.

i have become a fan since then... so that makes me a fan of TR for over 9 years now.

in 1999 i bought TR 2 and TR 4 got released so since then i started bying the games in order.

The first time i heard about Tomb Raider was watching a friend playing TR1 i think maybe TR3 im not sure but i never really got into it but i still brought TR2 and played uptill the first level and then i gave it up untill i finished it 3 months ago . advertising like the cineworld advert* and the lucozade advert i thought were cool. Then I brought AOD for £10 like 2 years ago then i got bored with the crappy movements but i got to boaz level 5 months ago and got stuck maybe i will finish it next year when i get bored but i saw adverts and screens of legend and i like it so i brought it and played it to death cause i love the movements and the levels and now i love tombraider. As for the movies i saw 5 mins of the first one and got totally confused but i saw the second film a couple of months ago and thought it was great which is also why i love the new Croft Manor cause it relates to the film.

*Cineworld advert was great it was lara in the cinema and a girl came out the cinema on her mobile phone/cell phone and she grabbed it and crushed it. then she sat down and some people are talking so he bands their heads together and someone smokes near her so she grabs him and throws him face first into the no smoking sign. i cant find it online if anyone can post it

I bought the first with unfinished business for my hubby for Christmas. We both enjoyed it, he bought me the second but stopped playing it as the swimming bits frustrated him - I've carried on and played all of them.

For me,I think it was around1998. My bro and I had moved out of the house into an apartment together to get started on our life away from home. He is the younger generation that grew up on the personal comps. He even went to a tech college here in town. Well when we moved out he got me started on the internet and I heard about games you can play on the pc at home. I grew up on video games on consoles like Coleco Vision and Atari and had missed it for awhile. So I went to the pc games section at a local store to see what they had that I might like. Most of it I didn't like till I saw Tomb Raider. I bought TR1 & 2 that day to try out. Lo and behold,I was hooked. It has been a wild and fun ride ever since then.
