yeah i know what you mean.. i hate it to when ppl do that, but i guess some ppl can't help it if they arent so good at remembering names... so no blaiming on them XP.

i was at a game store a little while ago and they had this TR box for PC with TR 1 to 6 and on the side they had put "Laura Croft Tomb Raider box" LOL!!

It sounds like Lara to me, but like you said, it's probably her accent for you. I'm British so it sounds right to me. Also, the pronounciation of Laura in America and England is different I think. Laura in England is pronounced law-ra, we Brits like pronouncing our U letters lol.

As for the whole Laura, Lara debate. Yes, some people do call her Laura and I find it ironic that she originally was called Laura but it was changed to Lara because Americans pronounced it as Lara, I think. Can't find a source at the moment.

But in the end, don't get angry at people who call her Laura by accident, politely tell them it's Lara and then they don't make the mistake

yeah i know what you mean, when i first heard her actuall name would have been Laura Cruz... i was happy they didn't used that one. that name would have sounded like she is JUST some action babe that everyone probably would forget after playing TR 1... i think her name was important cause imo Lara Croft sounds more lady alike and way much better!

Like 'Laura' is pronunced 'Lara' so they spell it how it sounds lol

I think Laura Cruz looks like Angelina Jolie from the TR movies (im not sure if thats a compliment???)

My nephews called the game "tumor aider".

I said, "It is NOT a tumor! Nor is Lara Croft a doctor of any kind!"

But I think it's just a mistake. I mean, even when some people are typing real fast and they know that they mean to type Lara, sometimes it's just a typo and they end up spelling it like Laura. It's pronounced basically the same way. And some people don't even know that it IS Lara, they just say Laura because they think that Lara is an unusual name and they don't even think twice about it.

However, they should read on the case where it clearly states "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" But I guess most people just overlook that.

I've never heard someone call her "Laura".Instead,they call her "Lara Craft".I hate when they do that.
