Microsoft developed a new product yet again; a software and hardware combination where users can manipulate digital content by the use of natural motions, hand gestures, or physical objects.

"Surface" features four major components: Direct Intraction, Multi-touch contact, Multi-user Experience, and Object Recognition.

It's a 76cm black table base (56cm high, 53 cm deep, and 107 cm wide) with a Window Vista PC placed inside it, and covered with a 30-inch touchscreen in an acrylic frame. Beneath the screen, there are five cameras that can sense close objects, which will allow users to interact with the machine by touching or dragging their fingertips or non-digital objects such as paintbrushes, across the screen. Even real-world objects can be tagged with special barcode labels to be used as input device. This miracle computer can respond to 52 touches at a time and plus, it can identify physical objects.

"Surface" is expected to be released on Novemeber 2007, in restaurants, hotels, retail and public entertainment venues. Prices range from $5.000 to $10.000, and are expected to be dropped in 3 or 5 years.

I saw this not too long ago on YouTube. It is one of the most amazing things I have seen in a while. Me and my boyfriend have possibly decided to take out a loan when it arrrives. lol
