So I don't know how many of you have already seen this - it's been around for about a week, I think, but I only just saw it today so I thought I'd post it here in case I wasn't the only one who hadn't seen it yet.

this hasnt been posted before but I can see a problem... if you look, her face is cut out for a start and secondly on games there is a banner at the top of the box which says PC or Playstation ETC oh and the font is wrong

EDIT: these pictures are actually in the gallery so i would think this is official, and its stupid how they chopped her face off isnt the point of the box to show off the detail and the most detail is on the face i'm sure tom wont mind if I show you using the gallery pics

That is so sweet!!!

I think that's just a way to create some curiosity, because they changed her face, making it look more realistic. I'm not sure if that's the final cover they're going to use, they might uncover the face for the final picture to be used in the game boxes!

If you listen to Podcast number 4, they talk about reasons as to why they "Concealed Lara's eyes." on the box art...and I must say, it's very deep in its reasoning.

They wanted to re-inforce that it was the player's experience in the game and not just about Lara. Also, they wanted to show Lara in the environment as a 'Tomb Raider', so they decided to still use Lara in a prominent way, but she was 'wearing her experience', as to what it takes to be a Tomb Raider, which is why she's all dirty, wet, bloody...etc.

I think it's one of the best Tomb Raider boxart designs so far.

Because her face is not shown your attention is focused to her belt and pistols. Which gives the whole thing a kind of gritty action feel.

You could say it looks like she's about to grab her guns, as in a Wild West style stand off
