I got Underworld for my birthday last week and was really excited as I haven't played with Lara (so to speak!) for quite a while - now I know why!! I'm already stuck!! In the Kraken Room!! How poor am I?!?!

Can someone tell me what to do?

I've sorted out all of the cogs, I've pulled the lever on the platform and he's let go of the other column, which fell apart, I've swung over to the other lever and pulled that but it just moved the platform down to where it started!! Am I missing something??

My PDA doesn't help - it tells me "I need to find a way to free the sun platform from the other bridge" and "I need to go in the room at the end of the bridge that's still extended" but I'm sure I've done all of that!!

I can't get out of the door behind the Kraken as he's got a leg/arm/hand/foot going through it (somehow!!) and I can't get out of the Kraken room any other way...... can I?

It's seriously doing my head in now!!

OK, its not too bad in here. If your playing on Wii, the walkthroughs you see on line are ALL WRONG so ignore them. When you first encountered the Kraken, will be at the starting point for my help here. Turn around, get to the main corridor and go right. (There is nothing to the left but two dead ends so waste no time there. On non-Wii versions there are probably goodies in those areas, so you can indulge yourself if you wish.) Follow this all the way around until you find a room with gears. (Again, ignore the opening with a slope that leads to water if your playing the Wii version as there is nothing there. In non-Wii versions there may be goodies down there is you want to indulge.) Climb up, solve the puzzle and pull the lever. You may keep getting a prompt to use your grappling rope, ignore it. Go back to the room with the Kraken. Go down the stairs and go right. The Kraken will be angry and may flay at you with a tennacle. If it strikes you it takes health so be careful. Go to the wall and go left and after the second pillar look up on the wall, note the highlighted blocks, these mean climb. Climb up, get on a beam between two pillars, and walk in the direction of the Kraken. When you reach the pillar look around it to the left and see a platform. Jump onto that platform. There is a short hallway there leading to a room with more gears. Solve the puzzle and pull the lever. Come back out now and get yourself onto that disc thingy with the spikes on the underside. At the back edge, pull that lever and the disc goes up. Now you can use your grapple rope to swing to a hallway behind you. Don't waste too much time as the disc will lower of you do not get to the other side of the disc, and get your grapple connected and jump quickly enough. Once in this short hall, you'll see another switch there. Wait. The disc will lower. Now flip that switch and then look to your right. You'll see a chain there. When the disc is all the way up, a broken or weak link will be clearly visible. Shoot the bad link and the disc falls and kills the Kraken. Now move back to the ledge. On the floor to either side see the highlighted edges, climb down, drop, and drop again until your on a long ledge. Move to either end and you should get a prompt to use your grappling rope. Connect your rope and rappel down to the platform below. The door that was closed behind the Kraken is now open. (In the non-Wii versions, this area was blocked by a tennacle. its now gone.) Run up the short steps and through the door. Done.
