Tomb Raider has probably been your biggest franchise over the years. But sales for Underworld haven’t been up to the mark. Do you think the series is losing steam now?

Underworld has met our target expectations, but it’s a tough market at the moment. There aren’t as many PlayStation 3s or Xbox 360s in the world as there were PlayStation 2s or PlayStation Ones. The hardware is quite expensive and production costs are rising. So there are certain challenges, but as a franchise, I don’t think Lara Croft is going down at all. In fact, her popularity continues to increase. Not every game has been brilliant; Angel of Darkness is probably the dark point in her career. If you look at movies, James Bond has survived 40 years. Not all those films have been great, but the character remains strong. The next Tomb Raider, I think, will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise. There are some remarkable things we’re doing in the next Tomb Raider to make you say, “Oh Lara, I love you so much!”

Tomb Raider Underworld had a fantastic environment throughout the game. But for Tomb Raider 9, I think there should be day to night and night to day transitions Like, if you are in a level and its daytime, if you play for a while, it will transition to night & vise versa What do you think?

A very nice idea Glory! I think it will be a more realistic though, well, everytime they say that TR is going to be something new, but nothing is going to change but I do love her as well :D

I have been off the forum for a little while as im sure some of you have noticed. But...nevertheless I am back and I had to comment on this. I have seen some of the concept art and where they are thinking of taking TR9 and I must say I am impressed and very excited. It really seems like they are returning more to the roots of what TR is all about from way back in the days of Core Design's TR 1 in 1995/1996.

If anyone hasnt seen the concept art or TR9 content that has been leaked let me know and I can find a link. But, I am very excited. And...I do love lara so much lol
