I thought I'd make this thread for anyone to post news about upcoming games that don't quite fit into their own threads yet. This includes rumoured games, future games, future and rumoured DLC additions, etc.

(RUMOUR) 3DS - Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnation-Downfall 3D:

This title is a fresh Capcom rumour. As you know, Degeneration is the name of the CGI Resident Evil movie that stars Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, and Damnation being the title of it's announced sequel. The apparent idea is to include both of the movies on a 3DS cartridge and then Downfall would be where you play through the game as Claire witnesses the 'downfall of humanity'.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 - Resident Evil 6:

Gamers are no strangers to paying that extra money for the sought after special or limited editions of the games they want, but Resident Evil 6's Premium Edition takes it to a whole new level. This currently Japanese only edition comes with a copy of the game, four special 'covers', each featuring an image of the main characters, Leon, Chris, Jake and another so-far secret design (what the covers are exactly so far are unknown), a replica of Leon's RE6 jacket and a pricetag of ¥105,000! That's around $1,300.00US, $1,300.00AU and £820.00!

(CONFIRMED) PS3 - God of War: Ascension

The fourth title in the God of War series has been officially announced for release some time this year. God of War: Ascension is set before the original God of War, giving players more insight into the life and trials of Kratos.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 is the highly anticipated ending to the trilogy of Commander Shepard's story, but it's ending was less than impressive to fans. BioWare is currently working on an ending that expands and explains.

(RUMOUR) PS3 | X360 | PC - BioShock Infinite

BioShock Infinite's release has been delayed until 2013. A recent job ad has asked for a network programmer to work on "the networking aspects of BioShock Infinite". Of course, this naturally creates a multiplayer addition rumour.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Hitman Absolution

Square Enix has officially confirmed that Hitman Absolution will be released globally on November 20th, 2012. Gamers who pre-order will receive a bonus spin-off called Hitman: Sniper Challenge, from May 15th. Brand Director of the Hitman franchise, Jon Brooke says, "Hitman: Sniper Challenge is a way of thanking customers and giving them a taste of Agent 47's skills from the moment they pre-order the game."

A slip up by Sony Hong Kong has released details of a DLC expansion pack for ME3 online, called "Rebellion".

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - South Park: The Game

THQ has pushed the release of South Park: The Game back to 2013.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Saints Row: The Third

Additional DLC has been announced for Saints Row: The Third entitled "Enter the Dominatrix".

Enter the Dominatrix picks up immediately following the events of Saints Row: The Third. For centuries, alien warlord Zinyak has eyed Earth and its precious natural resources and females with a watchful eye. As he prepares an armada for invasion, he has only one worry: the Third Street Saints. Zinyak captures the leader of the Saints and imprisons her / him in an elaborate virtual reality simulation. This simulation program looks and feels like Steelport, but it is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. Here, you are a slave. Welcome… to the Dominatrix.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Saints Row 4

A LinkedIn profile, which belongs to lead prop and weapon artist David Payne, states development on both Saints Row 4 and the XBLA game as "current". The game was officially announced at 2011's E3.

Capcom has announced that this latest entry to the Devil May Cry franchise, being developed by the great Ninja Theory, will be released in Europe and North America on January 15th, 2013.

(RUMOUR) PS3 | X360 - Final Fantasy XIII-3

Final Fantasy XIII-2's ending was a surprise to series fans, and the recently released DLC, Lightning's Story: Requiem of the Goddess, gave more questions than it actually answered. There has been speculation of a sequel for some time now. Square Enix registered a domain titled Final Fantasy XIII-3 late last year, although they've said it was just as a precaution...

THE U.S MAY BE FACING A BAN ON THE SALE OF XBOX 360 CONSOLES

The ongoing court battle between Microsoft and Motorola looks to have taken a bad turn for Microsoft, following statements recently made by an International Trade Commission judge. Motorola filed a suit against Microsoft in response to patent-infringement claims lodged against Motorola by the Xbox manufacturer back in 2010. The case stems from Motorola's claims that Microsoft's Xbox 360 infringed on five of Motorola's patents related to "secure wireless communication and transmission of video content between controller devices and game consoles".

Recently, a judge has suggested that the Xbox 360 console should no longer be imported to the US and all sales cease. Microsoft has disputed the suggestion, but International Trade Commission judge David Shaw has showed no love for the company, stating that "enforcing intellectual property rights outweighs any potential economic impact on video game console buyers."

Microsoft argued that Shaw's exclusion order does not serve public interest, because it would leave consumers with only two options to satisfy their gaming needs: namely, Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii. Shaw believes that the 4GB and 250GB versions of the console that are manufactured in China should not be imported to the US and any consoles already in the country be barred from sale with a cease and desist order. The judge needs to have the ITC's commissioners agree with his recommendation, and if they do, it will find its way to President Obama's desk where he will have 60 days to come to a decision with his advisors.

^ whoa that's crazy! I can't really see it happening... how many people are still buying Xbox 360s anyways? They've been around for years and when mine died I replaced it with a PS3

(CONFIRMED) Platform Unknown - Star Wars

Lucas Arts has confirmed it will be making a pre-E3 announcement of a new Star Wars game on May 31st.

(CONFIRMED) NEWS - PlayStation Network

For those unaware, the PlayStation Network is now known as the Sony Entertainment Network. The reasoning behind this name change is for users to be enabled to access all of their accounts relating to Sony with one single username and password.

(CONFIRMED) PlayStation Store - Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection

Capcom has officially announced that this previously Japan only release will be making it's way to the PlayStation Store in June. This HD collection includes Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, which were formerly exclusive the Nintendo Wii. The pack is due to be available for download on June 26th for the U.S and June 27th for Europe.

Sony Stops Your Game To Display An Ad:

A Sony Computer Entertainment patent application has been discovered for interrupting PlayStation gameplay to display an ad.

The patent explains that a warning message would be displayed to the player before suspending gameplay, displaying an advertisement, and then "rewinding" a portion of the game before resuming.

An example used in the patent application is "Best Brand Soda! You've got to try it!" It's been suggested that this controversial system could be used to fund free-to-play games on PlayStation platforms, which already has titles such as Killzone 3 multiplayer and DC Universe Online for free, and the upcoming Dust 514 on the way.

If Sony does start using this, it will be a massive insult to the online gaming community. Remember the days when you could buy a game and play for free, no catches? I can understand that running servers at their own expense can become costly, but to interrupt a game is just plain ridiculous.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda has revealed that their next game update, version 1.6, will add mounted melee combat.

The new feature headlines an update of otherwise numerous bug fixes and stability improvements. The patch will release to the general public soon, but PC gamers can try out the 1.6 Beta Update on Steam now!

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda is currently working on a DLC expansion pack for Skyrim players entitled Dawnguard. They've recently teased on their blog that they're still working hard on this new addition to the game and have some great stuff to show off soon.

(CONFIRMED) Platform Unknown - Star Wars 1313

LucasArts has announced Star Wars 1313, a new entry to the Star Wars universe that's targeted at a more mature audience, given its 18 rating, and looks to be a third person action adventure title, in which players take on the role of a bounty hunter.

The title comes from the setting of the game - subterranean metropolis level 1313, below the planet Coruscant. The game will make is official debut at E3.

(CONFIRMED) Platform Unknown - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

Officially announced after a leak earlier today, Konami has released the games' first trailer. The trailer shows Gabriel Belmont stepping onto a battlefield and mercilessly dispatching an army with some cool looking magic.

(CONFIRMED) PS Vita - YouTube Application

Sony has confirmed that it will be adding a YouTube App to the PS Vita in June 2013.

(RUMOUR) PS3 | XBOX360 - Hitman HD Collection

Square Enix may be looking to release a HD collection of the Hitman series, featuring Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money. According to the retailer that sparked the rumour, Italian company 16Games, the package will be available from October 15, which is close to a month before the release of Absolution on November 20.

(RUMOUR) PS3 | XBOX360 - Final Fantasy XV

A rumour surrounding Final Fantasy is that Versus XIII has actually become the 15th installment to the series after a video emerged on the internet reported to be a pre-E3 Square Enix press briefing.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - South Park: The Stick of Truth

The trailer shown at E3 earlier revealed the official name of this new South Park title and also gave a March 5th, 2013 release date.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 - Beyond: Two Souls

The creative minds behind Heavy Rain earlier revealed their current project at E3. Beyond: Two Souls, is a game that promises to be unlike anything you have experienced before. It will be emotional, mature and unique. But also epic, breathtaking and spectacular. The game's lead is voiced by Oscar nominated actress Ellen Page, probably best known for her role in Juno.

(CONFIRMED) PS Vita - Assassin's Creed III: Liberation

Liberation will be set during the same time as Connor's adventure through Assassin's Creed III, and in a franchise first, features a female Assassin as the lead character. Her name is currently unknown as are many details about the game. Ubisoft has revealed that players will be able to link the the game to AC3 on their PS3's to unlock dlc content.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 - PlayStation All-Start Battle Royale

PlayStation All-Start Battle Royale is a free-for-all brawler showcasing the best and brightest of PlayStation's characters and worlds.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Splinter Cell: Blacklist

A cinematic trailer was shown at E3 showing Sam Fisher infiltrating a terrorist cell and rescuing a hostage, then proceeding to escape. It is currently due for release sometime in March 2013.

BREAKING NEWS!!

The political battle lasting 10 years over the R18+ rating for video games in Australia has officially passed the bill. Australia's game ratings will now be on par with film ratings. Previously banned games, such as Mortal Kombat 9, Left 4 Dead 2 and Syndicate, will now be welcomed into Australian retail stores (more family friendly stores may choose to exclude R18+ games from their stock, I'm not too sure yet) once they're resubmitted for their ratings. No more censored games!

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Saints Row: Enter The Dominatrix

THQ has decided that Enter the Dominatrix is just too good to be a DLC entry to the series, and has been delayed until next year to be a full retail release.

(CONFIRMED) Nintendo 3DS - Nintendo 3DS XL Console

Nintendo has confirmed that it will be releasing an XL version of their 3DS console, which sports a 90% larger screen. The new console is due to be released this August.

(CONFIRMED) PS3 | X360 | PC - Mass Effect 3

After fan uproar to the ending of Mass Effect 3 back in March, BioWare will officially launch it's Director's Cut ending on June 26, free of charge, the DLC will be 1.9GB.

"The Extended Cut expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 through additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings,"

Deus Ex isn't the only game getting a Hollywood adaptation this week, expect to see an Assassin's Creed movie hit cinemas by 2014, starring X-Men First Class star, Michael Fassbender, taking on the roles of Desmond Miles and his ancestor Altair Ibn-La'Ahad.

I'm excited for the Assasin's Creed movie. Michael Fassbender is one of my favorite actors and I think he'll be perfect for it.

I'm excited for the Assassin's Creed, Deus Ex and Mass Effect movies -- let's just hope they don't get screwed up...not like poor BloodRayne did.

High Moon Studios, probably best known for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Darkwatch, released a debut trailer at Comic-Con for their next project, Deadpool.

For those who don't know Deadpool, he is an anti-hero who is best known for his witty banter and arsenal of weaponry. The debut trailer shows just who the character is and what he does -- he's also voiced by Uncharted star, Nolan North.

(NEWS) Square Enix Celebrates an Anniversary with a Big Announcement!

Square Enix is set to make a special announcement on September 1st during their 25th Anniversary celebrations for the Final Fantasy series regarding Final Fantasy XIII key character, Claire 'Lightning' Farron. It has so far been dubbed 'The Lightning Saga'.
