I don't know how I missed this but this is one genre I love to play in.

Dishonored is a game that’s difficult to put in a nicely defined genre cubicle. Officially it’s a “first person action game”, but it also has some RPG elements, a sniff of adventure, and also stealth appears to play a not to be underestimated role. As of October 12th you can check it out on PC, PS3 and X360.

I've been keeping an eye on this one, and it's looking great. I won't be picking it up when it's released on Thursday though, I've got a lot to catch up on as it is, but I'll definitely grab it around Christmas.

What to do?! What to do?!...... I'm probably leaning to getting this later as well but the gameplay really intrigues me. It's like a combination of Thief and Bioshock.

Have you tried Borderlands 2? Such an improvement over the first, I really enjoyed it.

No I haven't tried Borderlands 2 yet, or the first one for that matter. But it is on my want-to-play-list.

The reviews thus far have been quite favourable. I just have to make up my mind on which platform to play Dishonored on --- PC or the PS3.

I actually beat this game back in late October. It's a great game. I chose to play all stealth-like throughout with very minimal kills as possible and got the good ending. Gotta love those quick saves on the PC version.

I played Dishonored in December -- really is a great game. It was one of those underestimated games when it came out, but its gaining popularity.

I read that there is going to be a DLC sometime this year I think. I hope that gameplay is a long one.

I agree with you that Dishonored is greatly underestimated. There were those that expected a run-and-gun fight FPS experience. While it's all and good, I think they're missing the finer points of the game that the developers intended the game to be truly played. The fact that there are multiple paths and ways to achieve said objectives offers the player to actually appreciate the scope of the game, imho. Having said that, I also appreciate the way we are given to take down targets/npcs in creative and imaginative ways based on the powers we choose to level up on. Gameplay however is reduced if we choose this path.

Exactly! There's so many ways that you can play. My personal favourite was Blink.

While not my personal favourite, Blink was my most used power throughout the game. Using it to sneak up behind a soldier was priceless!

I loved the freedom of it. It let you go basically anywhere you wanted.

Bend Time was my favourite and Blink comes a very close second. I recall having to use Bend Time to get to the cellar at the party level with the 3 sisters. That took a lot of timing. That was my favourite level actually because it was different from the others; you were kinda playing detective and that was fun and refreshing.

That was my favourite level too. I did the same getting down to the cellar, but one of the party guests managed to follow me down there and gave me a bit of a headache. I was impressed at how differently I managed to solve that level in my non-lethal and murder everyone play-throughs.

The Party is the best level, my favourite too! I annoyed a guard so much he asked Corvo to leave, so you could lie, or pretend you were drunk, haha.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for happy endings. As much as I wanted to be inventive in dealing with adversaries, I felt that, ironically, it would make gameplay proportionately harder: more killings=more zombies=more rat infestations=more power usage=more loss of health=more use and loss of health and power elixirs....

As for the cellar scene, my first attempts to get down there was to put asleep the servants and guard but I kept messing up. Had to change strategy, but I know it could've been done in this manner.
