I know with Steam you have to login and launch your game via the steam app, is Epic games the same? I would like just run Tomb Raider I-III Remastered standalone and play it on my PC without having to be online or login. Thanks

Yeah, like Morph said, don't delete anything in the WinSxS folder. This folder is the broken windows architecture bandaid system. ? There are 100s of slightly different versions of same library file in that directory. There should only be one version of each library file. But over time they broken backwards compatibility. Say some old game program (TR3?) would draw a window on the screen, it would call the drawWindow function in draw library file and it would do the expected operation. But over time Microsoft made changes to how and what the drawWindows does in that file. The changes to these files are for security updates, new versions of windows, new features etc. . . . But these changes can causes your old game program to fail or crash or whatever. SO Microsoft sticks every version of the file in the WinSxS, then for compatibility. This way the old game can load the exact version of the library that existed when it was original released. They made thousands of changes, so there are thousands of files. This help us to run all our old TR games on our WIn10 PCs BTW 13Gig is not much space anymore, SSD are really cheap. Given the backward compatibility is good with Windows, the loss of 0.013% (13/1000) of my 1T drive for these files is nothing. Apple computers have crap backwards compatibility, their programs ran on PowerPC CPUs in Macs; about 2005 they changed to Intel. Your TR3 for 1998 PowerPC Mac would not work on your newer intel CPU Mac. Most of my old ipad apps no longer run on the new ipad OS. But i can run my original 1998 TR III CD in my Windows 10 64bit os with a few patches.

LOL I came from a family that really and I mean really like most of John Wayne movies. They never watched them for the accuracy, they watched them for very different reasons to your statements. Due to their influences I also see them very differently to you j7. My expectations and approach to them are nothing like yours. These 50 to 60 year old movies are not on the history channel.

LOL You all live in the USA and complaint about not having access to movies. . . . I think you have it good over there. For example On Amazon, I can see loads of movies with Submarines featured in them, I like Submarines, so i try to order like dozen DVD/Blurays Submarines. Only one of them was licensed for shipping to Australia. All the others had rights holder restrictions and could not be shipped here. Now Netflix, it had 10,000+ shows/movies in the US region and only a few thousand here in Australia. Same with Prime. We have to pay extra for a VPN/DNS to get around the regional barriers, then i can see the order of magnitude better selections you guys have. A new release movie here cost $39 bucks and is released months/year after it is there. I could rav on for hours, but i will stop. BTW, the problem is not that we live all the on the other side of earth or the we have a smaller population. Its that are two media owners that own most of the movie distro channels here, they also own most of the TV stations and news papers, have politicians in their pocket. The biggest communication company is in partnership with them too, so our internet have not very good until recently. (although it on average cost 9 times more then the rest of the world). We have the same issues with all books, parallel importation restrictions and its the same to nasty media owners influence here too, not wanting anything competing with their almost complete ownership of the Entertainment Industry here.
