I love the trailer! I'm glad we finally get to see some levels that aren't just The Lost Valley!

I just sent it to BPanther and Blade! They seem to like it too! :D

I'm still unsure whether I like Natla's voice...I'm gonna have to wait until the game is released!

I love the new trailer! ^_^ I'm so excited for this game!

Not sure whether I like Natla's new voice myself... I think I prefer her voice from TR1, but I'll see how it works out in the game.

I have the trailer.It's cool! ^_^:D

What will be in the game

Confirmed regular levels

  • Peru[1] - Lara is hired by Jacqueline Natla to find the Scion hidden in the Tomb of Qualopec, hidden in the Incan city of Vilcambamba. Peru has already been confirmed, with the Lost Valley appearing in the recent trailer. Enemies from the original level included: T-Rexes, Raptors, Bears, wolves, Bats and an appearance from Larson.
  • Rome/Greece[1] - After interrogating Larson, Lara finds herself in Italy, inside St. Francis Folly to find the second part of the Scion. Levels include: St. Francis Folly, Colosseum, Palace Midas, The Cistern, and the Tomb of Tihocan. Enemies from the original level included: gorillas, rats, lions, crocodiles, and many appearances of Pierre Du Pont. It is unconfirmed whether this level is set in Italy or Greece, but there is evidence in parts of the level that suggest it could be either.
  • Egypt[1] - Lara tracks the last piece of the Scion to Egypt, hidden in the City of Khamoon. Levels include: City of Khamoon, Obelisk of Khamoon, and the Sanctuary of the Scion. Enemies from the original level included: panthers, mummy mutants, crocodiles, Atlantean mutants, winged mutants, centaur mutants, and the final appearance of Larson.
  • Atlantis[1] - Lara follows Natla to the Great Pyramid of Atlantis to retrieve, then destroy the Scion. Levels include: Natla's Mines, Atlantis, and the Great Pyramid. Enemies from the original level included: Natla's henchmen, Atlantean mutants, winged mutants, centaur mutants, giant mutant, and the final appearance of Natla.

Confirmed extra levels

  • Lara's Home[5] - PSW was the first source to confirm the appearance of Lara's Home in Tomb Raider: Anniversary. The magazine even states that it is "the biggest, most detailed mansion yet".

Confirmed gameplay elements

  • Zip and Alister will not return. There will not be a headset.[5]
  • Lara will no longer have a PDA, PLS or Binoculars, but the grapple has returned in the form of a hook grapple. It is not magnetic.[13][14]
  • Lara will use her classic pistols (Browning 9MMs).
  • Dual Uzis and the shotgun are confirmed to make a return.
  • Enemies include Bats, Wolves, Bears, Crocodiles, Raptors, the T-Rex, and the mutants and monsters from the Atlantis levels.[1][13] They will be significantly more difficult to defeat as they will attack in group.[13]
  • The only human ennemy that has been currently confirmed is Jacqueline Natla.[13]
  • The Lara model has been upgraded with more polygons and has inherited a new move, a pole-hopping move where Lara can balance on narrow surfaces. Also from a recent trailer, it can be seen that Lara can run across walls while swinging from her hook grapple[5]
  • The levels are bigger and more detailed than they were in the original, players will be able to discover more than just one path for Lara to take.[5]
  • Players should expect a minimum of 15 hours of gameplay, significantly longer than Tomb Raider: Legend.[13]
  • Interactive cutscenes will make a return[15]

Confirmed extras

  • Finding secrets will play an important part in the game, like in the original Tomb Raider.[5]
  • Several costumes might be unlockable, like in Tomb Raider Legend. Journalists from the PSM3 magazine were able to see the swimsuit costume from Tomb Raider II during a press demonstration of Tomb Raider: Anniversary.[13]
  • An unlockable director's commentary with Toby Gard has been confirmed.[13]

Cast

Keeley Hawes . . . Lara Croft

Jennifer Hale . . . Jacqueline Natla

PEGI Rating

The game has been given the rating of 16+ in the UK, as confirmed by the packshot of the game that was revealed on 10th February, 2007. The rating is a step above from the 12+ of Legend and the darkest of the series The Angel of Darkness, strongly suggesting that this is the most mature and violent of the Tomb Raider games, making it faithful to the Atlantis levels of the original game.

Trailers

As of present, two trailers have been released. The first (December 21, 2006) revealed an FMV sequence, in which Lara slid into The Lost Valley, battled several raptors and suddenly turned at the sound of the T-rex approaching. What followed was then several seconds of gameplay footage from that famous level, including combat against bears, wolves and bats.

The second trailer (February 23, 2007), showed one of the opening cutscenes (Lara's guide being attacked by the wolves) and gameplay footage from Egypt and Greece/Italy. A new move, in which Lara ran across a wall whilst gripping onto the grapple, was shown during the video. The trailer revealed also that the game was planned for a May release.

I dont really rely on Wikipedia, it has a tendency to be wrong!

Would be cool if all that was true! :D

I'm pretty sure all of that is true though. Esp. when it says Confirmed. They do have to follow guidelines, to ensure that the articles are valid. ;)

Yeah true, but anyone can edit the pages and add their own things.

I could go there now and say Lara will have changable heads and fly a sleigh (but I wont) haha! :D

And it would be changed back. Vandalism is not well tolerated there. Sometimes they will even lock the entry from being edited to regular members and guests. If you will notice at the bottom Tommy, you'll see valid sources of where they get there information. :)

Well you learn something new everyday, thanks Mike! :)

I loved how it was set up! I hope there is more climbing like Prince of Persia and (grapple wall walking)and not just one level lol!

I got excited when the music got all "Egypt tomb-ish"

The assistant for lara in peru looks like he took too many drinks of Day Quil

I hope Natla looks as good as she sounds!:angry2:

OMG, did you see the wall run? I had a smile from ear to ear when I watched that, lol.

Also, a little disappointed though. From what was shown there, it looks like there won't be hi-res FMV's like the original had. Oh, well.

Yup,you got it right!

yeah i liked it... though that guy she is with doesn't look like the guy in the original at all.

and i love to see she was wearing her original TR sunglasses... only they should have made the glass color a little darker cause now they look like regular glasses... and im sorry to say but those round regular glasses make her look nerdy
