I just finished the first God Of War game and it's freakin amazing! This is by far the best game I have ever played. My friend bought the 2nd God Of War game like a week ago and he already passed it. He told me that it was so good he pretty much couldn't stop playing it.

Have you guys ever played it?

I played some, I didn't get too far into it though. When I go back to rent another game, I'll look for it and try again.

Yeah it's pretty hard. The hardest thing ever is Pandora's temple and when you have to get out of hell. Thoose levels can be impossible I bearly made it myself. I'm going to ask my friend to let me borrow the second one.

You should try it out, I'm pretty sure you will like it. Ummm well if you have PS3 there is also Heavenly Sword coming out which is similar to God Of War except it's a girl. God Of War has always goten very high reviews like 9.7 ect... and I heard there was one coming out for the PSP so I'm going to buy that.

Ok, thanks Purple! I have a couple of games I'm working on right now, but I'll keep God of War in mind. I'll also look for Heavenly Sword when I get the PS3. I'm hoping to get one by this summer. I tend to like games with a female main character, but maybe I'll get the first game of God of War pre-owned and see how I like it.

Your should try it out, I just finished GOWII, it's very cool

I bought it and played it once. My reaction to the game as a whole is "Meh". It's too unbalanced, in my opinion, like the designers don't know what the word "challenge" really means. Throwing fifty hojillion enemies at you and making you defeat them all in thirteen seconds* isn't a challenge. Take Tomb Raider, for instnace; by and large, the puzzles are insane, but not infuriatingly so. Especially once you realize that the schmuck designers programmed a few shortcuts. ("Schmuck" is used jokingly.)

With God of War, I was constantly ranting about how terrible the design of the game itself was. Oh, it certainly looked pretty, and had quite the interesting story--but the game-play, the "meat" of any game that keeps us playing, was seriously lacking, for me. The puzzles were, by themselves, pretty easy to figure out. It's not being allowed to do the blatantly obvious because of mind-breaking "traps" or wading through enemies that annoyed me to no end.

I gave up and sold the game to a friend when I started the game on God Mode. The costumes I unlocked? Couldn't be used. I went through all that hell--for nothing? No costumes on God Mode, no level select, nothing? Thanks, guys! </sarcasm>

I watch alot of GOW reviews and such on G4 and the game sounds awesome with the puzzles but the battle sounds like it might be just a button masher game...

The one for the PSP is coming in a couple of months, then I think they are working on the one for the PS3.

Meh for me indeed. I beat the story and was rather disappointed at the "nothing" they gave as a reward. I just can't see a reason to keep it in my collection.

God of War is amazing, I beat the first and second, and both are the best games I have ever played(besides tomb raider, and I still love Kingdom Hearts too). It is incredible, and if you think it's not challenging, I challenge you to beat God Mode. Lol I don't know of ANYONE who has beat God Mode.

My son has just traded some games for God of War 2 - but he hasn't played GOW1 yet - do you think it matters?

Well sort of because the second one explains a bit more of the story from the first one, so it will make more sense, but he could play GOW2 and if he liked it, then play the first one, no harm in that

Well the story kinda starts with the beginning of his destiny and all that, and explains about him and how he became what he is in the second. I love the second and I'm sure it doesn't matter if he plays it first, just might be a little confusing. Be sure to play both though!!

Well he's playing it now and really enjoying it. He only knew about the game from this topic so he's pleased about that - he would have got GOW first but he was doing some trades and they only had GOW2 in.

I can see a lot of similarities with Tomb Raider. The moves, and the gods.
