Hi guys, I'm after some help regarding one of our PCs. We bought it from a trader type person from eBay a few months ago. Anyway, it recently (over the past couple of months) wont boot up. We contacted the seller and he said he'd send us a boot disc for the computer. Anyway he never did so we bought one from eBay, and this is where my problems lie now. I have no idea what to do with it, lol. It didn't come with any instructions on how to use it or anything, so I am very confused. There are numerous options on the disc with what looks like different programs that restore settings etc. The pack came with two CD's, a boot CD and a Utilities CD. The computer is running Windows 2000 and as such is getting on a bit, lol. Any guidence would be appreciated! Thanx guys.

I imagine that you put the boot disc in as soon as the computer is turned on. and it should do whatever it needs to do. the utilities dick has most probally got basic drivers and system files if any are missing it will prompt you to change disc. also maybe contacting windows is a good idea they will support you through the processes. good luck

Agreed! Just thought i'd add - when you turn on the computer, if it doesn't boot from the cd or at least say 'Press any key to boot from CD', you need to go into bios (usually you hold DEL or F2 when you turn the computer on to do this) and change the boot order so that CD Drive is above Hard Drive

Thanks guys. The problem is, when I put the CD in I'm presented with what looks like lots of different programs that do pretty much the same thing....It's just selecting the right one and what I do after I've selected it that's getting to me, lol. Thanx again!

Dude in work had the same problem press the button in and nothing. We unplugged the plug on the tower for 5 minutes and

it was fine after. Guess it had a brain fart it happens.

It's a Vixon apparently....

I'll try unplugging it Tom.....that's the only thing I have yet to try, lol.

I bought it cheap used....I think Vixon is the make but can't be certain. I've still yet to try some stuff on it, I'll let ay all know the outcome!
