I was lamenting how Lara couldn't do her flips as she used to.

Well I was wrong, at least partly.

Lara can do the traditional flips in combat mode.

That's the key, when out of combat mode she can not flip but once she is in combat mode hitting a direction key and the jump button does make her flip, just like in the trailer.

I feel better now!

Hehe, you've only just discovered that? It was exactly the same in Legend, as far as I can remember..

I missed the old backflips, too. You can do them whenever her pistols are drawn.
