Download, install, update and run Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware

The only ads I use on LCO are the google ads that aren't popups.

When you click on them I get a little something to buy stuff for the

Use AVG Free...

NO i installed that earlier before i used the system restore point and it didnt do a thing. Then it told me I needed to upgrade so i click upgrade and the server was down

Try it again mate, seriously! The servers are hardly ever down and it's the best yer going to get without paying money (and half the ones that you pay for destroy your computer by slowing it down so much). If you are wondering why it didn't detect the popup thing you had, it is probably because it wasn't a virus, it was ad-ware, and if you download ad-aware and run it every few days that wont be a problem Hope that helps!

dont be silly i dont pay. The system restore put Norton back on which i didnt pay for either lol. but yes it does make it slow a little bit. Norton doesn't catch alot of threats though.

oh.. not sure if you did this but I'll say anyway.. if you have Norton make sure you don't install any other virus scanners without uninstalling Norton... if you have more than one virus scanner installed at a time they both become pretty useless because they interfere with each other.

No virus scanner can catch everything but norton is likely to catch most... it's just annoying as hell unfortunately!
