"An action/adventure game by Kouji Okada (the father of the Shin Megami Tensei series) that takes you through seven mysterious and yet Earth-like worlds. The game features two main characters. Ellen, a troubled young woman searching for answers to her past, receives a letter from her mom: a person who died when she was a child. The letter says "I want to meet you," and suggests that Ellen go to the town of Doolin. There, she meets Keats, a journalist who handles the occult corner of a magazine. He receives a phone call from an unknown girl asking for help. When he gets to Doolin, he finds that the girl has already been killed, and decides to start up an investigation."

Just watched the video review of the game on IGN --- very interesting. I like the RPG elements that's integrated into the game. I'll keep Folklore in mind as I'm planning on picking up a PS3 soon either this year or the next.

jedicri, the PS3 like the one I have 60-Gig I think is now $499.99. When I got mine it was 599.99 but I cheated since I had a little over $100.00 in store credit so it ended up being like $408.00. The new one is the 80-Gig one and that one is 599.99, but you don't need that sh*t 60-Gigs is plenty. Keep in mind that alot of places now try to rip-you off with the warranty, don't fall for that. They want to charge you like $100.00 extra just for that freakin warranty I didn't get it and it isn't recommended that you get it either, don't let them brain-wash you sometimes they repeat it over and over again and give you all this BS about it but just ignore them. I got mine from GameCrazy here and they were trying to sell me this used PS3 one lmao the guy was getting on my nerves so I told him that if he didn't stop I could go buy one somewhere else. There is also this fan I have and I recommend it, it's called the Intercooler, there is this other fan called the Pelican something like that, but I liked the Intercooler much better.

Anyhow.... LOL!...I'm like in Chapter 5 with Ellen, and the game is cool and weird, very original. It's like Silent Hill without gore or just something weird in a good way lmao. I have to start with Keats version, I think I will do that after I'm done with Chapter 5 with Ellen. I honestly recommend this game if you are into the adventure/suspense kind of stuff. It has a taste of RPG but it isn't.

Wow, thanks for all the advice regarding the PS3 and whatnot ---- I'll keep it in mind..... ... the thing is, a couple of hours ago, I went and got the 80 gb version and it came bundled with a game; I also picked up an HDMI to HDMI cable so I can view and play games up to 1080p on my HD tv.

I've read about the Intercooler and Pelican cooler when I was researching how to cool my 360. There were mixed reviews from both users and review sites alike; mind you however, these reviews applied to its usage on the 360 where heating was and is still a problem (red ring of death as its called, lol). I'm assuming the Intercooler works well for you? When using the PS3, I'll be placing it on the coffee table free from any surrounding obstructions so airflow is at its maximum. I haven't heard of any heating problems regarding the PS3 ---- have you?....

As for Folklore, it reminds me a lot of this certain game you may have heard of called Beyond Good and Evil --- action, stealth and adventure and a little dose of humour mixed in; BP has also played it. The conversation in the former game is reminiscent of the one found in the latter. Looking forward to Folklore!

My boyfriend is the one with the X360 and he has bought so many fans lmao I can't remember how many for that darn thing. He wants a Wii now lol. Yeah I have definetly heard of that Red Ring Of Death thing, hilarious but it sucks. I have many reasons why I don't like the X360 but I won't trash it down since everyone has different taste and I respect that unlike alot of people that just like to talk crap. Whichever console has most of your favorite games, then that's all that matters, every console has their goods and flaws. I haven't bought the HDMI cables, but I will when I get my HD TV and yeah one that supports the 1080P so hopefully I can experience the "High Definiton" Jin Kazama when Tekken 6 comes out LOL!

Yeah I have played Betond Good and Evil, good game.

This is off topic but related to the PS3:

I have 2 questions regarding the Sixaxis Controllers:

1.) According to the PS3 site , "[t]he SIXAXIS™ controller can be easily switched from wireless to wired." Is this referring to the USB cable that may be connected to the console? Probably is.....

2.) When fully charged, is it advisable to disconnect the USB cable or may I use the controller, while fully charged mind you, with the USB cable still connected to the console?.... If I do the latter, will this lessen the life of the rechargeable battery?

I tried the demo of this game on the PS3 site, however it really annoyed me lol...I didn't like the comic style of storytelling, it just got on my nerves a bit. I liked the gameplay in general, but since there were loads of those comic style cutscenes, I have a feeling it'd annoy me more than entertain me.

To answer your questions, I have a feeling it is referring to the chargeable USB cable, and to answer your second question, you can play whilst connected to it, but they don't reccomend it probably because of the Sixaxis controller. Whilst playing and yanking your controller around you may either rip our the cord, damaging it, or possibly pull your entire PS3 off the desk it's on. Also, things can overheat if they are charged and kept charging, but I've not heard of many cases where this could damage the controller.

For the first question, yeah pretty much. Second question, well basically if your PS3 controller is fully charged it doesn't need to be conected to the USB, incase during gameplay your controller little red light starts to blink then press pause and just connect the USB cable. Or you can just simply leave the USB cable hooked up to the PS3 at all times if that's what you prefer.

Ok cool, I'm at Chap. 5 with Keats and I will bounce back to Ellen's side after, and now that I have played couple od Chapters with Keats, the story seems to be making sense a bit more but still nobody will tell me WHAT HAPPENED 17 YEARS AGO? lol, thoose darn villagers. Btw, have you gotten any new cloaks? I found one in the level where you are in the ocean and I will probobly complete a quest from one of the people in the pub to get the one in Warcadia.

Oooh, you must mean the Bug-A-Boo Folk. I actually haven't absorbed it yet either lmao! I kinda skipped it since I didn't know how to get it. It says here on the strategy guide:

"Attacks when you get close by punching and making it's needle like fur stand on end. The only way you can make ID appear is with Sleep, so make sure you've absorbed a Cait Sidhe ID before you fight one. When summoning the Cait Sidhe, be sure to have little distance between you and the Bug-a-boo, and be careful not to let it's Fur Needle attack hit you."

Ok so now we both know lol. Btw, the Cait Sidhe is also found in Faery Realm.

I just realized that you probobly ment the Bargest Folk, lol. The Bug-A-Boo is smaller and you said "huge" Ok well if you mean the Bargest ...try to keep your distance with him and attack with Ogma. It also says on the guide:

"You can also try putting Bargest to sleep with Cait Sidhe or other Folks with Sleep-based attacks to stop them from moving before taking them out."

I believe that there are two paths that you can take, right (Bargest) or left, I believe that if you go left you might find the Cait Sidhe, I have it but I can't recall where exactly I found it. Anyway so just try turning left instead of taking the path that leads to the Bargest. After absorbing the Cait Sidhe you can go back to the Bargest, or just leave Faery Realm and come back when you can. I still need to go back to certain places to obtain the folks I missed. I'm about to enter Endless Corridor with Ellen. I have a feeling that this level is going to tick me off a bit lol.

HP:650

Ok.... It's weakness: Bargest (Use for Tentacles) Ogma (Use for Spikes) and Boobrie (Use on the Flower).

For Keat's Story:

HP:350

Use: Bargest (For the Head) and Hinky-Punk (For the Flower).

It's pretty much an Adventure game, and not really puzzles but you can sometimes get easily lost in a realm because of the many paths sometimes. So far the most confusing realms I've gotten kinda lost in were Endless Corridor (that whole level is weird not to mention the boss) and Hellrealm a little, also in Warcadia it can be tricky and Undersea City, lol pretty much they can be all confusing at some points.

@jedicri, everytime you get a picture book page, check it for clues and some tips.
