We wanted to recreate all the parts that people remembered and then throw in some new areas to keep veterans on their toes. We strove hard to find the right balance of nostalgia and freshness and to create an experience that captured the sense of isolation so prevalent in the original. The story was simultaneously expanded and tightened up so as to realize the full potential of the tale and provide more insight into the various characters. And while we almost duplicated TR in some regards, we took this opportunity to update some aspects of gameplay -- like Lara's movement -- to something a bit more contemporary.

The section you have quoted does not appear to state anything about TR 2 being re-made. It just states that they expanded the original story and enhanced it, etc. So, no official word on TR2 being re-made, sorry. In fact, I heard that this was a 'one off' according to the Producer.

Yes that is exactly what I have heard, I also think it is unlikely that CD updated the message with newer copies of the game. Can you get a screen shot?

But I do think they will. Cause it has recaptured the audience and more people it is likely to say have played Anniversary then TR1 (me for instance.) Therefore they made more money. So why wouldn't they remake more?

Another remake would be good. I also noticed that in TR2 you had to fight sharks, in legend and anniversary, you didn't do that, but in Underworld, it looks like they brought the sharks back for another go.

I get from that other forum that people there don't want to see a TR 2 remake. It was great to see CD do the original TR over, but it should just be that game. We have TR: Underworld and CD should keep on making new games to keep the series, and franchise, going.

Tomb Raider 2 was my favorite next to Tomb Raider 1.

I agree with J7, TR2 is the first one I ever played. took me years to get into it though

Let's face it though, CD really created Anniversary to aid them in making Underworld clearer (With the return of Natla). I don't really see them re-creating another TR unless it furthers the plot in either Legend/Underworld, or a future game.

TR2 was my all time favourite, too, and I love it, but I fear a re-make in case they cut some parts which were the best or make it less detailed, like making Venice too short, or combining Bartoli's Hideout with the first level in Venice, the name of which, I cannot remember. Seeing those levels in Next-gen would be fantastic, I agree, but I dunno, it worries me.

I agree with Ms. Croft that they only remade TR1 for the storyline (Legend/Underworld). I think Anniversary is more of a prequel (and somehow fits in before the in-game prequel of Legend).

Another reason is because since Core had started on it, CD thought they should finish it.

Loved TR2 (I still the remember the morning I got it for Christmas), but a no on a remake.
