Who thinks we should have background music during the levels in TRU

I say NO.

For me No music, only play music if it's an intense gun fight or boss or something like a cutscene...

I think that it should have music on the bosses. Like the boss music from sonic rush adventure which is like rock/pop music. that would be cool

I hope it's like the earlier TR games, where it's silent most of the time except for background noise, with the music only occasionally for added atmosphere in certain places.

I hope it's like Anniversary - no music for most of the game, but it's there during key moments and combat. The music for Anniversary was wonderful, and I'm a huge music lover so I like to hear a lot of interesting, powerful, cinematic tunes in a game I like so much - at the same time, the absence of music contributes significantly to the sense of isolation that should come with a TR game.

Troels B. Folmann is an excellent game composer. I wish they could manage to get Peter Connelly (who composed for AOD) and Troels Brun Folmann to collaborate on a soundtrack. Say whatever you like about AOD, but it remains unparalleled in terms of music in the Tomb Raider series, and Anniversary's soundtrack was brilliant as well; I've no doubt that the combination of these two great game composers would be awesome.

it's better with out the backround music the only time music should come on is when your fighting a boss or an enemy or somthink like that plus with out music you might not die as often

I agree with that. you remember in Anniversary when the rats came out, the tinkly music started the rats took 2 seconds literally to kill the music lasted maybe 7 seconds. doesn't work right that

I think the music should depend on where you are or what you're doing, but there should almost always be music. IMO, music has always been an important part of Tomb Raider; every game's music is beautiful and different and suits the game.

I won't mind background music, but aslong it's not like in Legend - a full soundtrack where there is playing music. I'd like the ambience soundtracks like in the classic TR games.

i agree with what was said earlier...they should have mostly silence... with some music in the important parts briefly. for example, you are walking down a corridor and suddenly a swinging blade pops out of the wall...that would be a perfect part for music but before and after that part you have silence again.

but no music constantly like legend...but with the silence just like crackling sounds or things like that.

That's what I thought too. I was like, "What are they talking about? Where?" But it guess that's because it suit the atmosphere because I played it recently and noticed all the music. It wasn't as bad as you guys were saying it was; I actually REALLY enjoyed the music for Legend.

Speaking of AOD.... I was looking for the song AOD by Alex C. (track 10 in AOD music collection) in a mp3 format so I could import to Itunes. (I'm computer stupid.) Anyway, finally found a site that lets you download the full song in mp3 format. Just FYI.

i agree...i didnt notice the music at first, but a tomb raider forum that i was a member of at the time pointed it out...

actually thats the main reason why i left that forum...they were way too picky and started to act like jerks and put down CD and CORE all the time and they were just disrespectful.

but yea i think the music really fit the environments in legend and it was subtle, however i do agree that there should be more silence...but still of course have music in the game, just in certain parts

I agree. The music from earlier games made for more atmosphere....

I was listening to the podcast where the composer was interviewed. He said the score was much more orchestral and wouldn't have the drum beats like Legend. I like the music from TRL. I have most of the songs on CD and listen to them regularly in my car. I'll miss the drum beats, but if the TR8 theme music is any indication of the rest of the music, then it's gonna be awesome as well.
