Do you want swearing in this game? like in Legend when Zip would say "yeah lara, fly over those ba$*ards" I didn't mind I thought it made it seem a bit more real + this game is going to be a 12 or 16 age rating. I read somewhere else that SCI is going to make this game and they use alot of swearing in their games or something, but its not really up to them anyway, is it?

SCi owns Eidos, and Eidos owns Crystal Dynamics... or something like that so I think it'd be more up to Eidos and CD than SCi. I don't mind mild swearing, but not too much and not very bad swears. Swearing is fine in a game that suits it, but Tomb Raider wouldn't suit very foul language. So I hope they keep it mostly clean

I really don't mind swearing of absolutely any sort. They're only words used for emphasis (what matters is not the word used, but the sentiment behind it; a word should only ever offend if, in that particular case, it is being used to offend a specific person or group - I would not consider the exact same word offensive if it were used in a non-confrontational context), and considering how common swearing is, it'd make for a higher level of realism. It would be a relatively insignificant aspect of the game, though, so I don't particularly care either way.

When it comes to using it in games and films, I really only see it necessary to fit the genre of the game, and add to it somehow.

In a game like Tomb Raider, I don't think it's really gonna add to it in anyway, as people are more interested in the tombs, solving puzzles and the action (Therefore blood would perhaps be more appropriate if added). Whereas, in a genre like Horror, Action, etc, or creating diverse and different characters, the swearing is more appropriate to the feel of the game, and adds to it.

i dont really like swearing in games too much and i dont think thats the tomb raider style so i hope they dont go overboard

I don't mind swearing in games that you'd expect it (GTA type games or war games etc). TR has never been a game where you'd expect alot of swearing. More Lara's witty remarks than swearing...The TR series would benefit from mild swearing, to aid reality, but then the series has never been meant to portray real life, either I guess, lol.
