I am really excited for this game but I can't afford a next generation console So I am stuck with my PS2.

I was wondering how diffrent the game will be on PS2 and if there is anyone out there who feels the same as me.

I am freaking out right now so could someone please calm me down!

I hate to feel like I am missing out on such a great game.

As far as I know it's going to be mostly the same as the PC, PS3 and XBox 360 versions of the game, with some differences where the PS2 hardware can't handle certain features (such as graphics). There's not a lot of information on the PS2 version of the game at the moment though.

well im not buying it now as I have heard they pushed it back because of bugs and im not having a buggy game the demo was a little buggy but its made by a different company and no one has seen a thing

I'm rather upset, but what can we expect? PS2 is no more. Just for us poor people that can't afford ~$300 for a freakin console!

I still stand by what I said, im not going to spend money on a game that might not even work, if they cant meet deadlines what have CD done by trusting this company. It's not as if they even needed to do anything but make some levels and some config, all the storyboard, cinematics and sound files are already made.

I think we're being a tiny bit harsh, they weren't even offering the PS2 version in the first place. Sure, they had all the sound files, level designs, etc, but making a game next-gen to last-gen isn't as easy as making a game last-gen to next-gen. Some things on the PS2 version aren't going to be possible as they would be on the next-gen versions, like certain moves, ways to traverse..etc. So they're probably going to have to create alternate ways to get around levels, plus I doubt the moves will be mo-capped so they have to create completely new animations and last-gen textures.

They're also not going to release a game that won't work, that would be a stupid move and the reason they have delayed it in the first place.

What I can see as annoying is how Eidos have been extremely tight-lipped about this until about a week before the game is released on other systems. This news should have been released a long time ago

Eidos is still giving the release date of the PS2 version as November 2008 on both their UK and their US sites, so I'm getting the feeling they don't really know what's plotting

If the PS2 version is having problems, they don't have an option but to delay it, as annoying as it is for PS2 owners. I do agree with Ms.Croft though, SCi or Eidos should have made an official announcement about this much earlier than they have.

No, like I've said before -- I believe a lot more people have a PS2 than a PS3. However, since it's being released on the 360 (and a LOT of people have them) that would make up for the people who don't have a PS3. Confusing, much?

I agree with Ms. Croft -- I am not expecting a next-gen game on the last-gen console. So, if people think otherwise that's just silly . :S I just want the GAME! LOL

Also, I had no idea the PS2-version was having problems. Because Eidos hasn't RELEASED anything! Grrr.

Oh, there's more people pissed about it than I thought. It's really not the point that it's delayed, it's that we were made aware of it (not even from the official site, mind you!) only a few days before the main release date!

Almost $60 for the PS3 version, while it's only $30 for PS2. Shoooooot...

This totally stinks. TRU was supposed to be one of my late birthday presents. My computer can't even handle the demo w/o shutting down because the processor's overworked. And I don't have a PS3 or XBOX 360...so I guess I'm waiting with all the other PS2 users.

£25 they want us to pay for it, the PC version is now £17, screw them im not buying the game for that amount of money on a console that is dying, and im betting is going to be full of bugs and when they cant even be bothered to make the game themselves and they have to pass it off to another company

How does that compare to USD? Amazon has new for $46.99 PS3 version with free shipping.

I see released on Feb 2 for $30. That's not a bad price.

and if I got a video card (which I dont need to do) I would need a new CPU, HDD, RAM and i could probably think of something else if i wanted to. and this is a laptop no one has parts for them

Is the game ever gonna be released for PS2. Of course I haven't looked around to see if its in any store. But if they were gonna make it for PS2, then why get our hopes up and keep delaying it.

I looked at the site www.gamefaqs.com and went to the PS2 section. Release date for Tomb Raider: Underworld is now March 3, 2009.

I bought my PS2 version from Asda online for the bargain price of £12.97 - but I think it was a one-day only offer cos it's now selling for £17.97.
