I mean.. it's not like it attacks lara. It's just sitting calmly in it's pool.. and Lara goes and puts a few spikes though its head just so she can get past? Didn't feel very fair to me but then maybe I'm getting soft in me old age!

there have always been rules to TR...

if its alive its gotta die (even the monkey's in TR3)

if lara can aim at it, shoot it

if at first you dont succeed, smack the keyboard hard and download a savegame

if your stuck, go to Stella

jump from the highest point in the game

and always, always torture Winston

I felt a bit sorry for the thing! But it was only for a few seconds! I went back and killed it again and solved the problem!!

Lol it's been like that every since part 1 (did we really have to kill the wolves, or could we have just ran? LOL) but since everybody is now going "GREEN" & major PETA advocates --- CD had to do something about it. Like when CD came under fire with Legend, about killing those darn wild cats. Now in Underworld, you have a taser gun (or something?).

BUT .. SPIKES IN HEAD?? Oh I can NOT wait for this game!!!

I went to the water near it, dived down and grabbed a treasure, after getting out the water trying to walk to the staircase at the far left, one of it's giant tentacles was chasing lara only for a bit tho.

It wasn't too bad killing it, put it out of it's misery? lol, then again what misery? it looked pretty comfortable just sitting there anyway.

To be fair... if you try to go up using the pole on your left (facing the room), it tries to kill you by breaking the pilar... You even have a slow motion sequence there... So, there you go! Tried to kill you.. it dies!!

Of course... you can do the whole thing without using the pilar and then it doesn't try to kill you! lol I also went under water and got the secret and it didn't try to hit me...

I guess that, if it makes you feel better, use the pole!

yeah but where would the fun be without killing them, one of them stole my medi-pack it had to die

Not really, I agree with putting it out of its misery. If you read Lara's journal, she states that it has grown too large to escape from there, so at least its boring torment is over.

And he attacked me...numerous times. Mostly when I was near the water though, he kept swiping at me when I was trying to jump over a hole...did anyone else though have a heart attack by accidentely landing in the water? I honestly thought Lara was about to die or get mauled or something....I'm glad he's blind.

EDIT: I remember feeling slightly guilty when I actually raised the spike-chandelier...I thought I'd just drop it from that height, but when I saw it go higher and higher...it really looked like it was going to hurt.

I didn't have any problem at all. Either it was gonna die or I was. Better him than me.

That thing killed me twice. The first time I let it do that on purpose to see what would happen, the second time because my health was low and I wasn't paying nearly as much attention as I should have been... Lara seems to love killing off rare and unique creatures though, so at least the whole episode must've made her happy.

I prefered it this way. Cause other times when fighting creatures, they attack you and move around, sometimes and it can be hard to beat them. I liked it cause you didn't have to worry about it grabbing you and eating you. I even took a swim with it and touched it and everything lol.
