I posted this also on the help desk area and am going crazy right now, so I'm going to repost the same thing here.

Okay I've been to a bazillion websites trying to get past Level 20: The Monstum Crime Scene, from Angel Of Darkness. I am so frustrated that I'm thinking about giving/selling my game away because I can't get through this level. This is the info from the walkthrough where I'm at:

SEWER TUNNELS/VASILEY'S CELLAR: Follow the tunnel to the water-filled trench. Turn right and continue to a rubble-strewn hole in the wall. (There are a few other side passages off this tunnel but they are dead ends.) Go through the rubble-strewn hole to Vasiley's basement. Go up the short flight of stairs. The red door on the right doesn't open yet. Go through the open doorway and up the stairs.

The problem I'm having is this: I can make it to the trench and I "think" I've made it to the hole in the wall because I've seen the red door. However, the whole area is black and I can't even Laura on the screen at all. A lot of the times I can barely find the red door. I'm assuming the stairs must be opposite that, but I can never find them. I continously wind up falling in the water and drowning. I even went so far as returning my game 2 times to get a different copy because I thought there was a glitch. Everytime I get to the same place and have the same results. If there is any way possible someone can help me "shed some light" on the subject (hahaha) it would be most helpful. If I wind up not getting any help I'll most likely sell my game back to the store I bought it from, again. That sucks though, because up till now I'm totally in love with this game. So anyway, if you could help please let me know. Thanks!

are you playing on the PC or Playstation 2?

I noticed this same problem when I played on the PS 2 and after a bit of frustration, I found out I went down the wrong passage in the tunnel!!

Oh wow, my bad. Totally on PS2. How did you manage to find the right place in the dark though?

I had this same problem in the same place, but with my PC version. I went back to an earlier save and replayed to that point, and then the textures all loaded like they were supposed to.

The only other save I have is from Level 2!!!!!!! I really don't want to go back that far.

you played from Level 2 to Level 20 without saving; how did you manage to do that?

if you had died, wouldn't you had to restart from Level 2?

I suppose this teaches me a huge lesson. Unfortunately, I guess this mean I've got to start from Level 2 again. Major depressing!!!

If you've saved in the black area, I don't think that there's a way to get the game to load right again. That's from my experience with the PC version though, the PS version could be different.

The only thing I can think of to suggest is either that you go back to your previous save, or keep reloading in the hope that it will come right

maybe try using a level skip cheat code and skip to the next level but I don't recommend it:

Ah well such as it is I suppose. At this rate I may as well just start completely over. I have always just continued saving over my last saved game. The only reason there is a saved Level 2 is because my boyfriend's son wanted to try the game. Thanks for all the help anyway everyone. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board.

You could try the level skip like j7 suggested, but it would mean you wouldn't get whatever upgrades there are before the end of the level.

Well I tried the skip level, but it didn't work. Or I wasn't doing it right. One way or the other. Oh well. This sucks.

Apparently you have to enter the code very quickly for it to work. Unfortunately I don't have a PS2 to test it on though.

Okay, how about this .... I still can't get the cheat to work so I just walked blindly into the darkness down the right hand side.

I've managed to somehow (who only knows) find a path. However, there is nothing at the end. There is a red/orange ladder on the ground but no exit. If I go back down this path to where I entered, is the place where I'm "supposed" to be further down on the right?

Yeah. The place with the ladder isn't where you need to be, but the place where you do need to be is out of that corridor and on the right.

Thing is, to advance to the next level you need to trigger a cut-scene, and I'm not entirely sure that the cut-scene will load with the level like that.

I think you might be right. I came out from that hallway and proceeded down the corridor but nothing happens. Just darkness. I think the best thing now is to start all over unfortunately.

Yeah, that's probably best if you can't get the level skip to work. Sorry we couldn't be of more help

Well, if you could get the level skip to work, you could just skip to the start of the Crimescene level. that way you dont have to go through all that again.

I never really had that problem with Level 20. I did have problems with trying to get the Level Skip cheat to work but it didn't.

I would just turn up the brightness on your T.V. screen or your moniter.
