Actor and Comedian, Robin Williams, has passed away at age 63.

In a statement, Marin County Sheriff's Department said officers had been called to the 63-year-old's house at 11.55am on Monday (local time) after he was found unconscious and not breathing.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. The Sheriff's Department said an investigation into his death was underway, but that it appeared to be suicide.

This is incredibly sad news. I almost didn't believe it when I heard.

Robin has always been a favourite of mine since I was young, and I, like many others, grew up watching his films, and to know now that he is gone almost feels like losing a piece of your childhood.

A truly talented man who gave us all so many laughs, and he will be missed.

My condolences go to Robin's family and friends.

Rest in Peace Robin. Bangarang.

The last time a comedian's passing affected me this deeply was when John Ritter passed away.

We came to the U.S. in August 1977.

Dad bought our first TV sometimes in late 1978.

I didn't speak but a few words of English then and I was attending 7th grade here.

I learned most of my English outside of school watching TV shows like Mork and Mindy, Happy Days, CHiPS, Charlie's Angels and Three's Company.

It's very sad that all that money and it still won't cure depression and substance abuse and addiction.

Robin Williams just re-entered rehab for substance abuse in July.

He has been battling substance abuse and depression since 1980.

Robin Williams is a comedy legend. I really can't believe hes gone .He knew how to be funny, make you laugh. But he could be serious as well. I'm gonna see what Netflix has, and watch all the movies they have of Robin Williams.

His best early movies to me will always be The World According To Garp.
