British director and actor Richard Attenborough has died aged 90 after a long illness.

Attenborough, who appeared in movies such as Brighton Rock, The Great Escape and Jurassic Park, in a career spanning six decades, died on Sunday the BBC news reports.

"His acting in Brighton Rock was brilliant, his directing of Gandhi was stunning - Richard Attenborough was one of the greats of cinema," British Prime Minister David Cameron wrote on Twitter.

Another brilliant entertainer gone.

Rest in Peace, Richard.

at least he had a long life!

p.s. I think most folks here will only remember him and know him as the old man in Jurassic Park, Unfortunately!!

I couldn't remember the name of the character and I didn't feel like looking it up on IMDB.

Oh man,I did not know he had passed away. I just watched The Great Escape two days ago. Now I will have to watch JP again soon.
