This the the World War II series about the U.S.A.A.F. Eight Air Force.

The United States Army Air Force Eight Air Force bomber groups of B-17 and B-24 that flew from bases in England and Italy to bomb military and industrial targets in Germany and German occupied countries like France during World War II, in an effort to destroy the Nazi war machine and everything that powered it and produced weapons and materiel for it.

The U.S.A.A.F. bombed during the day and the R.A.F. (Royal Air Force) bombed during the night, non stop.

Some of the bombing raids over Germany involved 1000s of bombers in a single day.

Over 250,000 air crew (both Allies and German) died during the battle for Air Supremacy over Europe from 1941-1945.

This series is produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and it's a continuation of their two previous series,

Band of Brothers (2001)

After The Pacific ended, there were talk that Masters Of The Air will go into production in 2013 for HBO.

Then for whatever reason HBO kept dragging their feet on it until 2019 when it was sold to Apple.

So now after 10 years of rumours, it's finally coming.

An official release date.

Don't know if Apple will release all 9 episodes the same day or weekly.

Looking at some of the other Apple series like Servant that had 40 episodes in 4 seasons with one episode per week, I assume Masters Of The Air will be a weekly thing.

I prefer they just release the entire series at once.

I will try to keep an open mind but there is too much CGI making it look too clean:

Band Of Brothers and The Pacific both have that realistic gritty you felt you were in the mud and blood look.

Also some of the dialogue is dumb like Let's Rack Them Up And Knock em Down

I don't think USAAF Bombers Crew spoke like that during World War II

 

 

It was not good compared to Band of Brothers and The Pacific, both series that I have rewatched half a dozen times.

Spielberg and Hanks were producers of those 2 series and also of Masters.

But after watching Masters, I think Spielberg and Hanks were just names on it. 
 

They did not have any creative input and producer involvement.
