Everyone on this board seems to have finished legend fairly quickly, which has left the TR section of the forum quite quiet. I think this is probably to do with the game being a touch easier and shorter than we're used to, less people needed help.

Anyhow.. I was just thinking of something 'Tomb Raidery' we could do to keep us in the mood until the Anniversary game is released and came up with this...

My idea is to get us all playing one of the first five games again - We spend a week or two deciding which game to play, maybe based on which game the majority seem to have played the least, which one we haven't played recently, ect., and then starting on a certain date, we all play through it again, as if it were just released. It'll let us go over some of the 'forgotten' bits of each game again, and we'll all have something in common to talk over.

Firstly I want to know what people think. I know everyone's busy with work and school etc., but part of the idea is to play at a leisurly pace, I'm not suggesting we have a race. (I hate when people rush through Tomb Raider games, it takes all the soul out of it)

Anyhow, my other reason for this is, some of us perhaps haven't finished every TR game and need a kick up the arse to do them properly.

I wouldn't mind doing one of the older TR games again. Although I should be going through Legend again since I've only played it once... But if other people are up for this, I'll go for it.

as long as it's not the London Levels of TR 3 and anything after Cairo in TRLR or the Young Lara levels of TRC!!

There you go... maybe if you play them again, you'll like them more!! Besides, when one game is picked... it's the full game, not just levels of one!

like the Pacific Levels in TR 3, I can play them with my eyes closed!!

Well you can jump up and down and wave your knickers in the air if it makes you happy but it's missing the point a little...

I take it the reason you want to play in blocks is because you don't like some bits?

One of the reasons I wanted to do this was because it's another chance to have a go at some of those 'bits we hate'. For example, the first time I played TR2 I *hated* the ship levels. Now i've played through that game about 3 times and each time those levels grew on me more. I appreciate them a lot more now.

I also hated the London levels of TR3, but who knows? Maybe if quite a few of us ended up playing through those again, discussing levels as we went along, we'd be more open minded and maybe they could grow on us.

I just thought it'd be fun to experience some of the old games again, but to make it more fun by all doing it at the same time. It'll get a bit of discussion going and we can share some of those great TR moments again.

And, Mr. Wild, with a baby on the way you wont have many more chances to play these games properly for a long while, so I'd make the most of 'em while you can ; )

Came across at young age, had my father play it, got to Midas and turned to gold, had nightmares, and was "scared" to play them "right".

I'm gonna go for TR3, as i've only played it through once but it took me forever (and i needed help from my brother) - so i really should give it another go and play it in its' entirity .........i have to admit, the first time i played, i skipped one of the London levels, i can't remember which one, but it had a really difficult timed run and i just got fed up of attempting it and it kinda put me off TR3 a bit. So, i hope i enjoy it next time round.

Yeah. I dont know why I cant play these games. I'm subconiously scared of enemies coming from nowhere is the problem I think. The jumping/running/etc. is easy enough though.

Now that I think about it, I did beat Legend for PS2. Weird not using the PC. Bad news is that I rented it....

Sounds great, Raek! I never finished TR3, though it was my first TR game. It was for PC, and it drove me crazy. I'm almost done with fighting Willard near the end, pretty much out of ammo, and still freaked out by the fact that he seems to snap Lara like a twig & eat her. The good news is that my frustration with it led me to LCO. I've since played every game on PS, except for 5, which I never got around to. So there's 2 games I'd like to add to my 'finished' list.

Well.. I think tomorrow I shall post a poll so we an pick which game to play... TR3 seems popular so far and that sounds good to me (I too never finished it!), but i'll do the poll anyway.
