Yes, I'd been afraid that the boat was necessary for completing the level, but when I went back to take my frustration out on the rats, I discovered I'd been mistaken. I've since beaten the game, heh.

I just got the pistols back and returned to the beginning of the level. Shot the rope to free the boat, then got distracted and went after the Relic. Then I discovered the boat had floated too far, beyond what I assume to be what I would have jumped off at. Is there some way to move the boat, or is it actually supposed to be there (and I'm just missing something obvious), or do I have to restart the level? I'd intended to do just that, but I only have one save and, foolishly enough, it's after I'd released the boat. If there's some option in the menus to restart the level, I've repeatedly overlooked it. And this makes me a sad gamer. ): Any advice?
