Controls/Moves

I can't remember if there was a threade like this before, but if there is, please feel free to delete this one.

I was wondering, are they going to have the controls from TR1, or have controls such as ladder climing, rope swinging, you know, the things we did in legend.

im pretty sure the controls will be similar to that of legend. after all, they said they wanted to bring TR 1 up to date with all the other games that are out there right now...so i think it will be like legend...which is not necessarily a bad thing

true, just as long as they bring back some of the old moves from TR1.

I read that Lara-Aniversary will have the move to balance on a pillar!

wow! that sounds awesome. how creative

yes,that sounds pretty awesome!

Not just pillars she can also use this perch move on other small areas too, perhaps like small stepping stones and so on etc. And apparently she can use her new grapple to climb walls for the first time. Now That's pretty cool, I always thought she should use a grapple to do that...

I dont get it-'perch move'?

I dont get it-'perch move'?

It's the move she uses to balance on things, That's what they're calling it.

Oh,now i got it!

It's great that they are putting new moves in the game!

i always thought that it was a bit of a shame that with TR legend they changed the controls, years and year playing TR 1 till 6 i have gotten used to the controls they had in those games, but in TR legend the controls suddenly were changed and i was compleetly confused becouse i had to do it different all of the sudden! to tell you the truth i just switched the controls back to their old functions again in the option menu of TR legend becosue i could not figure it out and my fingers were so used to the old ones while my eyes reconized lara on the screen.

but oh well, the controls are the only thing i find confusing in the game, all the otehr rest was just supercool and so does TRAE look. altough i hope those stupid blue FMV arrows will be banned from the game! they even made us control lara in the clips between levels! i always saw those FMVs as restpoints where i coudl enjoy watching it, but that has also changed, oh well...cant have everything.

haha I quite like the idea of not just watching the FMV and be active in them too! I guess this is an issue where people won't agree.

As far as controls goes, AOD let you use the WASD keys and I'm quite used to them. The camera took a bit more to get used to but I had no problems with the controls. Looking forward to this game! :)

well i don't really understand why some ppl would NOT get used to the controls of TR legend... i loved them and i hope it will be the same as this game. and i have noticed to that on some screen shots Lara is jumping from one pillar to another... i hope that won't be to hard cause i had some probs with that in AOD

Yeah, at first I had trouble with the tightrope in TRC as well. It took a bit of practice. It makes sense that the new 'perch' move would probably work the same because it requires her to balance herself equally on both feet to avoid falling off the pillar or small surface area. Don't worry, you'll master it, if it's like that. ;) This is actually a good idea to add into the game to make it harder and pull the player more into it; and make them feel what Lara would probably feel.

I do hope that they enable her to do backflips in this game. In Legend, I realized she couldn't do backflips without her guns drawn. I sort of miss this signature move of hers.

Lara can do a series of backflips whilst do the rolling flips or frontflip flips push down or opposite direct and she'll either do a cartwheel or flip in mid-air and then do backward flips. It's not quite the same as her old backflips but they're really cool! :)

i read that the controls are basically the same except that lara can now climb walls with the grapple how i do not know cause i thought it wan a magnet lol
