Thoughts on the Adrenaline Jump

Featured Replies

I dont really like the adrenaline dodge either and i agree with Dark Angel i find the space a huge problem like in the narrow passage ways and there is really no where to dodge.

But im still undecided if i liked using it in the boss fights, sometimes it worked well (like with the T-rex) and other times it just got on my nerves. I still think it should be made optional though like some of the moves in legend.

theres always space to do it if youre in a hallway just do it backwards or forwards and you jump right over the enemy

I didn't like the adrenaline dodge before because I didn't know I had to wait for the little aimer thingy to turn red. >.< And that would have made things A LOT easier. I didn't learn that til somewhere in Greece.

Now I like it, because I know how to do it, but I still mess up sometimes, but that's what makes it fun, I really need skill to do it fast enough. You gotta be on your toes. "It's a useful survival skill."

I really enjoyed the game up to the point where I had to perform a prescibed arcade type key malarky in order to kill the T Rex and enter the next part of the game. It spoils the game for me I can't get past it so I can't play it anymore. I wish they would stick to the brilliant game and do away with these set scenes.

I know it can puts you off, and I couldn't do it either. Did you consider using a save game? Or attach your savegame to your post and maybe one of our members can do that bit for you? The game is amazing and a shame you're stopping because of this ( silly) move...

i think it comes in handy sometimes because last time i did the time trial of midas place and very quickly that jump came in and BAM dead monkey.

Very handy and i find it great looking.

would like to see it in the next tomb raider game.

Thanks for your reply. I will pick it up again later and have another go because I do want to experience the rest of the game. I have always hoped they would recreate the original story with todays graphics and so far it's been fantastic but I am more into puzzle solving and exploring. I like to plan an attack on the beasty boys whenever possible, which I think is more realistic and keeps you absorbed in the virtual world. Good to have this Forum it proves your not alone. Cheers !

That's true, I just did that time trial yesterday, and those gorillas take a lot of time to kill unless you use a head shot.

My 3 year old niece said "No don't kill those monkeys!" and I said "Uh... No their just sleeping..." and she said "Jason... it's called DEAD!" LOL She cracks me up!

i like it in a way that it helps you in the boss bits but not generaly when you nearly killed the beasty and it decides to charge you and you have to do the dodge! *phew*

i wouldnt like it in TR8 because it would make the game like all 'Matrixy' and would kill the puzzle solving part.

I like the matrix, speaking of which, I was just thinking about playing that...

But I find that the combat and the puzzling solving are two completely different elements of the game. You rarely have to do both at the same time.

Not sure about the other bosses, not that far yet, but you don't HAVE to use the dodge to kill the rex. it may take some time, but you can just keep shooting and finally get him. Then you could at least continue on with the game.

Good Luck!

yeh the first time i fought it i didnt know how to do the dodge i shot at it for ages with pistols wondered why it was taking so long
