I'm thinking of buying an external hard drive to free up some space - can anyone recommend a good one?

I was just bidding on Ebay for a Freecom 40gb (that's probably all i'll need) but I lost out - I need quite a slimline one - oh, and it's for a desktop pc - thanks!

I would buy a bigger one! You'll find that the more you have, the more you need/want! HD fill really easily! As for the best buy, I prefer samsung or Sony! I've seen some with 100gb or more, for less than 100$. I guess it all depends on how much you want/can spend!

I really like the western digital MyBook any size is great and they are known for a great hard drive.

I have a 80gig WD hdd and a maxtor 160gig hdd external ,the 80gig is for backup files and the 160gig is for my boys music.And i have had now problems with any of them.P.S. i also have a 160gig hdd WD in my PC and swear by western digital

The wd 160gig was $120.00 aus dollars internal

wd 80gig was $80.00 plus and external box was $40.00 aus dollars

maxtor 160gig was 150.00 aus dollars external

I prefer Iomega external Hard Drives - I got 250 GB, 360 GB ($129.95 US Only before $30 Rebate), 500 GB and my next one going to be a 1.5 TB!!
