I was outside working on my yard and for some reason the thought about why people like things just popped into my head. So I thought I would pose this question: Why Do We Like/Love Tomb Raider? I know I like it because Lara is sooooo hot and I love Egypt, and you get to use moves to kill baddies.

Why Do You Like Tomb Raider?

I better not answer because it may be viewed by some folks here as being chauvinistic and sexist!!

I like Tomb Raider because you get to explore jungles and ancient ruins and collect treasure.

Also you get to dive Lara off of cliffs...

i like TR cause it has a woman (indiana jones , james bond) instead of men (well these days there are lots of games with woman in it) and i like to play with woman in games (dont get me wrong) i have LOTS of games wit woman like DEATH BY DEGREES CATWOMAN CHARLIES ANGELS ONI ALIAS and games like that LOL ... and TR is the first game i played on the PS1 , i dont know exactly why but i first started playing TR3 and ever since im hooked to TR i just like (like most ppl) the exploring and ruins jungles etc.

thats why i LUV TR ... it has a girl in it and it does exploring and in some TR games a little spionage , i also LUV spionage games

The mystery of her past, Music, Guns, Outfits that kill and aren't just for show, The exploring of all theese different ancient ruins, temples, tombs around the world ect., the atributes that make Lara Croft's personality. A whole bunch of other stuff but theese are one of the main reasons why I enjoy plaing Tomb Raider. Lara Croft is just brilliant.

First of all LARA ROCKS! Second, I love history and other supernatural stuff. The fact is some people like me relate to Lara or really love playing her as well. I agree. I love to study Ancient Civilizations and I love to travel all over the world to learn about dead cultures, learn their traditions, and I really love the ancient ruins.

I LOVE Lara's killer looks and the way she moves. I also like shooting stuff! Ha ha ha DIE T-Rex

pretty much because i got it with the ps1 it was the first game i played and the first i loved. i liked the stories and layouts of the levels, plus lara was always hot lol, i went of it around the time chronicles came out ive still never played it, and aod looked rubbish ive played a demo on pc since, i would play through it but i think its pretty crap. legend got me into tomb raider again

I love TR because I grew up with it, because it was the 1st 3D game I played, Lara isn't the usual bimbo we see in other games with a huge cleavage and tons of make-up, because the game has a pretty unique and captivating story-line, Lara's attitude is so unique (she's a Brit, a lady, and yet raids tombs) and she has a noble cause, she doesn't kill mindlessly.

Heck, I haven't been to the hair stylist for 4 years just so I could grow enough hair to braid it like Lara, that's how much I love TR

yeah she does at some level i mean all those bats on AOD for instance didnt attack yet she killed em or had the ability to

although i do agree with you on many other levels especially your point because she brittish all other games (that i play) seem american GTA for instance i know already dont point out that there is GTA London but it sucks

Pretty much the same for me, but I love the puzzles, and Lara is such a unique and wonderful character, and just all of the mystery of ancient civilizations. The danger, the wonder, the amazment, it all just built up into a revolutionary moment of my life. And here I am, addicted and loving it.

Rather than describing everything that I like about Tomb Raider, I find it waaay easier to explain what I DON'T like about Tomb Raider.

aah, seems the conversation has changed: Things We dislike About Tomb Raider? I suppose, cause it's a hard question, I hate that CD and Eidos always have little bugs that can affect the whole game like unable to kill the cenataurs! I hate the fact somethings are a bit unrealistic like the ledge jumping Legend's way of doing it was a lot more realistic its easier to vault yourself up and grab the above ledge than to vault yourself up and put your feet up and vault up like that. In fact In legend 2 she should be able to do both the Anniversary method should be for larger gaps between the ledges above and the legend method for shorter that way it challenges us to think what lara can reach or cant reach? I suppose im just naming faults for the sake but oh well.

Well, I'm a big fan of Indiana Jones-type archaeology adventure stories. Plus, Angelina Jolie is among my favourite actresses.

I like it becuase it fun to play and it was the first game i ever played!!

I love TR! I first got into it because I love Angelina and she was great in the TR movies. Only recently did I start to play the games. They are great because there is action, and you really have to think. When I solve a puzzle it makes me feel really smart and when you are playing a game for hours on end it doesn't hurt to be looking at the backside of a beautiful woman. there is soo much more to the games though than a chick with big boobs.
