I've got past the radio tower, but I'm now stuck in a room that has throwable lanterns. There is a hole in the wall that you must climb through

into another room with control desks, a big glass window, that looks into another room where a man is standing there waiting for you. There is

a steam pipe in one corner that shows up when pressing L2 and two doors at the other end that annot be open.

I've tossed the lanters through the hole into this room but all they seem to do is fire up and then go out.

Some advice would be very much appreciated.......

Pick up a latern and throw it through the hole into the gas room

Also make sure to turn on the gas, then toss the lantern in after Lara is out of that room

I've done that a few times now, and the room catches fire then goes out. I climb back into the room,

but not sure what to do next....

you'll know when the gas is on, the screen will get blurry from Lara breathing in the gas

Lara kept saying "that glass looks weak". So I'm probably the only one that just kept trying to shoot out the windows... hahaha.

no I did the same thing and got it eventually.

You have to jump into the hole to the middle room... In there, there is a gear or something that you need to pry... Doing this, the room fills with gas, and you need to quickly jump back to the room with the lanterns... Pick one up and throw it in

I have been trying all afternoon to throw the lanterns, but Lara just drops them. She makes a throwing action, but then just draws her gun without throwing the lantern. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Are you holding down the aim button at the same time as you press the primary fire button to throw the lantern?

Yes, I've tried all combinations of the right and left mouse buttons. I thought it would be like aiming and firing the arrows, but nothing works re throwing lanterns. I'm trying to aim accurately, from different parts of the room, maybe it's a question of finding exactly the right place to throw from? It's getting really frustrating. I must be doing some thing wrong. Or maybe I've missed something important I should have done previously. Is it perhaps a timing issue, I have to get back to the lantern room very quickly after turning the gas on? Thanks for your reply btw, much appreciated.

Strange... When you hold aim (right-click by default), you should see an arrow which will show the trajectory of the lamp. Does this appear?

yes, and the arrow goes through the window on a falling arc. Lara throws, there's a clanking noise as if the lantern has landed, but it is still on the floor beside her. I'm going to go back to an earlier save and try again. In the meantime, if anyone else has this problem, or knows what to do, I would be glad of help. If the lantern falls at the side of you YOU ARE TOO CLOSE to the yellow cabinet!!, step back a bit and get the trajectory travel display and she WILL throw the lantern through the opening and the gas WILL explode, this badly injures the guard too so make sure you take his head off, lol. It's quite simple really. Wait till you get further into the game!!!!

If you're playing on PC try temporarily re-mapping the keys you use the throw the lantern. I've seen some people who've had this problem say it helped.
