I just started ST. FRANCIS' FOLLY. I have to stop for now, I'm hoping to get to play for awhile tomorrow. I'm trying to get some screenshots but having a terrible time with it.

I'm currently playing "The cistern" ... It's been ages since I played so much TR in one go but definitely enjoying it! Even though, I found the Midas level TOO big. Anyone else thinks the same? At some point, I was wondering what I had to do....

Yes! Midas level is big, I hate the part where you go into the garden. I hate the gorillas, they gang up on you bad too sometimes

I'm also at Cistern, almost done with it.

Ive been replaying random levels in the games all week, but i think i shall try replaying TR1...

I've done the Colliseum now but after seeing panther play Midas I'm kinda dreading it!!

Really enjoying it so far tho'... Being the first time I played this game (just 11 years late... ) it's really suprised me how good it is. St Francis' Folly was well good!

Just finished the Great Pyramid and the game.....took me 26:27 to get through the last level. For those that want a quick victory over the big mutant at the start, here's how I did it...consider this a spoiler, ya'll don't have to read it:

If any of you have not used the shotgun during the game, now is the perfect time to use it. Select it from the inventory, if there is at least 40 in ammo that will be enough. Start out by firing from where Lara pulled up at the end of the Atlantis level. Keep in mind that mutant can get over to you pretty quick, so before it gets too close run and jump away from it. Find a safe spot and resume firing, again if it gets close, run and jump away to another spot and resume firing. It took me 26 shots to kill it. After its gone, you can run around and pick up all the UZI clips as a nice reward.

An interesting thing to do at the end of this level if you have the PC version is grab the piece of the Scion, and then save the game. When you reload the scion will be back on the pedestal and you can grab it again and have two scions. Then you can save again and reload as many times as you like and end up with a tonne of scions

I started this afternoon, but im only up to Lost Valley. I got every secret though

Does anyone know WHAT that gold thing was in the first level, in one of the corners in the room with the bridges? I though it was a bear at first, but then i got close to it and it wasnt....

I think they are mummies but you can't pick them up or anything....

I ordered mine off of Amazon. They sent me TR 2, lol. They are re-sending me TR1 so I hope I get it TODAY!!

Last night I did it at last...Lost Valley all secrets, no kills.

It took a lot longer than 22 minutes, considering the zillion times Lara died. The hardest part was getting back up here:

I must've gotten cornered down there and chomped about 30 times. I'm such a klutz. Now I need to replay it the normal way and get all the screenshots of the secret areas. Then it's on to Qualopec.

@Sudi: You might want to try Fraps (fraps.com) for screenshots. I'm using it and it works great even with DOS games like TR1.

Hi all! This post reveals the location of the secret on this level: Sanctuary of the Scion. If you don't want to know about this, don't read this post!

I'm playing the Sanctuary of the Scion at the moment (finished the first part) and I've got both Ankhs to use at the top. After getting the 2nd Ankh I thought I was really close to the end and wondered about the secret on this level. Obviously, I checked Stella's walkthrough to see where it was. The location of this secret is quite tricky and I didn't want to go back all the way around to do the jump. So I tried to get it while I was standing at the very top of the Sphinx (stella's walkthrough shows a different way but that would take me longer to do).

Here's what I did. I took some screenshots. Stella, if you want to use them, go ahead!

So, keep in mind I have both Ankhs at this point. I didn't know I had to go DOWN after using them so I wanted to be sure I had the secret before putting them in.

But getting the secret this way, you can either go back to the sphinx where you start or go down to the ground, if you placed both Ankhs.

Top of the Sphinx, with the ankh hole behind you. Look down:

Hop back and do a running jump.

You'll land right next to the secret. Uzis and ammo for it. yay

Turn around, to face the Sphinx again You have to kill some things while you're here by the way. Just be sure to save after picking up the goodies

Walk to the edge of the invisible platform, hop back and do a running jump to the sphinx. I've put a red mark to help. Slide Down...

...and land safely on the base of the Sphinx. From here, you can either go up, if you didn't put the ankhs yet, or jump to the floor

Was really glad I didn't have to go around, using those rocks, up and down again.... so I hope this is useful to someone!

I got up to St. Francis' Folly today. Im kinda mad though. TR1 only works with my old PS1 memory card, and i already the whole game saved on there, with all the weapons cause the game had been finished years ago. And now, i wanna replay it from scratch, like no unlimited ammo, but im scared to overwrite the old game, but if i dont i have to play with unlimited ammo, which takes the challenge out of it. And i dont wanna play the whole game with JUST pistols cause that would be ridiculously hard. Sigh. *stops ranting* Lol.

I just finished the game! Really enjoyed it and I'll play the gold levels now! Now that I'm done with this one, I'm even more curious to see the Anniversary game and definitely craving for more of it!!

Anyone knows if the Anniversary game includes the gold levels too?

I don't think the Gold levels are included, though nothing is official yet :^)

Apparantely they are going to include an essence of the Gold Levels...so maybe they will be fused with the main levels etc. But this is just a rumour and nothing's official yet. Would be awesome if they did have the Gold levels!! I loved them.

And congrats on finishing BP, I was gonna join you all, but my TR1 disc has mysteriously disappeared lol.

@Stella: Yeah, that's a great FMV sequence there. It's another thing in the Anniversary Game that I'm going to look out for, so I hope they've done a new version of it

It seems everyone is having alot of fun with this. It is really raising my anticipation of TRA. I just started PALACE MIDAS level. Its my least favorite level in TR1.
