I am having a problem with the QET just after the swing at the very start. It says Mash the E button to pull out but i tried so hard to be fast but just could not do it.....lol

Can anybody advise on how to do it? I did check the video but that really wasn't any help.

I take it you're at the part at the beginning where Lara has to pull a shard of metal out after falling down? I've just loaded up a new game to have a look, and can pass it fine just by spamming the "interact" key.

What's happening when you press "E"? Does anything at all happen? Try mashing a bit slower maybe, and see if that helps. Also, I've seen one person who said that the graphics options he was using caused the frame rate to drop during QTEs, which was putting the QTE out of synch with his button pushing, so you could try turning your graphics options down (I'm assuming you're on PC as you mentioned pressing "E").

Yes Shrensh it is at the beginning. It did move a tiny bit but kept falling back even though i was mashing hard. Next time i have a go i will drop Graphics just to see what happens.

My own Thoughts is that these kind of button mashing has spoilt the game...not to mention it can't be doing the keyboard any good either.

I tell you, some of those QTE come out of nowhere and I'm not even ready. LOL This game probably has the best death animations of any game.

Yeah, the constant quick time events have taken a lot of my enjoyment of the game away. Half the game seems to be quick time events, and they don't even always tell you what button you're supposed to be pressing. Urgh, it's really lazy game design that was only included so they could show it at previews.

I haven't really expierenced any after the wolves. I'm at Shattytown or whatever.

It's not just the button-mashing quick time events that are annoying me, it's also the bits like

the river with the spikes

or

parachute bit with the trees

Whenever I get stuck, it's because I'm having to repeat one of those scenes over and over, and it's getting a bit old. I really love the game, but I wish they'd put more puzzles in it instead of these scripted events.

Ok, i did it this time...i think i was mashing too quick strange as that may seem..lol....so i got into a slower but steady timing and it was ok..

I am really enjoying the game, but agree about the scripted bits. That said, at least when I do fail the QTE, it restarts at a sensible place usually

Well that's one good thing Shrensh anyway. Have you got far enough into the game to know if the check points (or whatever they are in this game) are not to far apart....lol...i need rests a lot.

And i'm sorry that i called them QET's ...they are QTE's of course.

I'm playing on PS3, and the game checkpoints every time the TR logo flashes in the bottom right corner, so it's not limited to base camps. I'm guessing it's the same for other platforms.

Yeah, the save points are very frequent. Like Morph says, just look out for the TR logo in the corner of the screen

can anyone help me with game...im stuck..im past the area with the insane men in their caves..and i blew up the rest of the men..but no i need to go past a door that is locked..all i see is a cage hanging from sealing..and i can blow up som gas beneath it..but nothing happens..how do i get the door open??

I'm stuck at this place... i'm trying all the time do it and it doesn't do anything.... do i have to keep on burning all the boxes or what??? Coz i have been searching everything and there's nothing else to do. HEEEELP, plz ??

Have you pressed the melee key to push the box? (F by default on PC).

Yes there is more to do than just keep pushing the crate. I think there were rocks that need to fall into the crate to increase it's weight.

Sorry, correction to that, it is boxes that can be lit on fire that need to fall in the crate.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, QTEs suck --- I hate'm. Because of this, I miss watching the action unfold cuz your busy pressing whatever buttons need to be mashed --- but I'm still gonna play the game --- go figure.....

My current bugbear is the part where Lara is trying to escape from the enemy compound with her wrists tied. I can break away from the enemy, grab the gun and shoot him once, but then, whatever I do, she gets shot and killed. I've done the indicated "stick waggling" and got a pink square icon showing, but whatever I try, she still gets shot. Any thoughts?

I played on the 360 so the LS stick had to be wagged back and forth quickly and then press the Y key at t he appropriate point.

I have heard there is lag on some pc's where your video settings are set too high for things to respond properly in time.

I suggest lowering your settings and trying again. There is a steam patch that auto installs when you relaunch the game.

After the stick waggling bit, you should get a prompt to press the interact key repeatedly. If you're not seeing that prompt, try mashing the interact key anyway after the stick waggling bit is finished. Then after that, you need to shoot the gun again.
