  1. CD said in an article that they wouldn't be making TR:A longer or shorter than the original. However, they were probably talking about the story mode. I'd love it if the Unfinished Buisness levels were unlockable, since I never got to play them. Isn't TR1 Gold out of circulation now? I'd also like an unlockable mini level with Lara fighting the Yeti, but that's slightly off topic.
  2. First of all, downloading Tomb Raider 4 would be illegal since it isn't shareware yet (no TR is so far, not even TR1). Anyway, your best bet is to buy online. TR4 is very easy to find on vurtually any online store if you look, you can even get it bundled with TR5! Although, since I don't have a credit card, gift card, and my parents don't let me buy stuff online, I just looked around for months and finally it was at my local Fry's (local computer store, not sure if it operates outside of the south). I hope I helped (and didn't come off too harsh on the "illegal" thing) EDIT: About Windows XP, I would download the TR4 patch, since some people have reported painfully slow loading times with TR4 on XP, that or you can just go into tomb4.exe's Properties and change the compatibility mode to Windows 98 and not Windows XP.
  3. I don't remember TR5's water to be as foggy as this. I was thinking it had to do with Volumetric FX, but that's turned off. Have I just forgotten how darn foggy the TR5 water is?
  4. I restarted TRC today to play the Rome levels. I never noticed that pretty glass dome above the swinging log before.... Also, I just noticed that the dome is the only place you see the night sky in game. It looks like it's the middle of the afternoon in Streets of Rome/Trajan's Market
  5. "Pilfering an ancient forgotten tomb and releasing an evil Egyptian storm God can make your muscles SO tense, huh Lara?" "Oh gawd yes. That's why I take my daily boiling lava baths! All my troubles just seem to go away" "Buy your own sizzling lava bath for only $19.95! But wait! If you call in the next five minutes, we'll cut the price in half! That's right, your own relaxing spa bath for only $9.95!"
  6. Thanks for the reply! (finally!) Anyway, by the way you said "little story" I realized that I hadn't explained this well enough. That post wasn't the only one; the posts will continue until they graduate or until I just get plain sick of it. Also, you kinda need to vote on if I should do "The Big Game" Not being picky (not TRYING to ).... ADVERTIZE THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS! I've wanted to do this for a while, I'd hate to see it be a complete flop.
  7. Avatar High I'll post Day 1 later today. DAY ONE Lara and Kurtis talk in the gym all morning. I didn't take a picture, but after they talked about art, they talked about Natla. TR gossip is the best gossip! The Art Room seems to be the place for chatting it up. Anaya and Alister talked in that spot for litterally half of the day. Until lunch broke them up. Look at poor Lara, all alone. :'( While checking people's profiles, I came across this little gem. Oh snap. I never really pictured Zip and Amanda together, but whatever... Ah, young love And then I checked on our 1000 year old Atlantean princess, who was surprisingly social! I'm not sure if picturing Natla skipping in a fild w/ bunnies is terrifying or funny. The two lovebirds find a quiet place to talk. How nice. Too bad Amanda completely tears him town with his offer of a date. This sends Zip into tears for a moment, but then he snaps back and proposes again. And gets shot down. Again. So, like any rational person, he tried AGAIN. You can guess the results. And then the day ended. 'Ello, wots all this then? Okay, LCOers. It's time for you to decide. It's only the morning of Day 2, so I'm not sure if the chirrens are quite ready. I can buy them all a special type of shoes to better their skills, but I've only seen Lara and Natla hitting the gym lately.
  8. Avatar High is a game on www.the-n.com*. It's basicly a top down 16-bit strategy game set in a High School. did I mention how dang addictive it is? Anyway, I got bored with controling the lives of random people with random names I thought of. So I thought, how about a Tomb Raider version? Avatar High lets you control everything that goes on in a typical high school, from proms to relationships. And yes, I will make sure Lara and Kurtis are in a relationship at least once. But enough blabbering on. PICTURE TIME! Heningshly High. A fitting name. I'll give you a cookie if you guess where the name comes from. If you don't know, then you're just not a proper TR fan. Hmph. And now for the (eight) attendees of Heningshly High. Lara Croft... Zip Alister Fletcher Anaya Amanda Evert, who at this age is very close to a (supposed) watery grave. Settle down, fanglirls. I completely forgot to get a proper profile photo of Natla. I guess that's what you get for being a 1000 yr. old trecherous Atlantean princess. I'll start the first day of school tommorow. Way too late to do it now. Plus, loading all those images was a pain in the arse. *You need an account of their website to play
  9. (OOC: Eep, I thought you were still Helen when you found me. This is the problem with multiple characters! I'll delete my other post now. Hopefully not too many people saw it, it was a plot twist w/ my character. )
  10. Ignore this post. I had to edit out a scene I typed. I mistook one character for another and accidentaly revealed a plot twist too early.
  11. I'm not sure if it's the same for The Sims 2, but The Sims for PS2 was terrible. You couldn't have more than one story to your house, and there was an actual story mode. Yes, a story mode in The Sims of all games. haven't heard anything about 2. But if you can afford it and your computer specs are correct, I'd go for the PC version. The port of a game is never as good as the original.
  12. "I must be getting immune to those things..." I said as I once again struggled to get off of the frigid stone floor. Crippling pain hit the back of my head as a tried to lift it, more painful than before. "That b*****d nearly broke my neck!" I yelled, fishing in my small backpack for some medicine. The pills were rough and make my throat sore; I should've brought a bottle of water to wash it down. Chastity was standing at one side of the room, accompanied by no one else. "Dammit." I grumbled, staggering to my feet. "I assume everyone's down there?" I asked. I wasn't about to waste more time waiting for a reply, so I jumped down the hole, and was soon met with more freezing water. "Great." I mumbled, as I surfaced, the cold water prickling my skin like needles. However, everyone was in the room like I had guessed, including 'Sir KNocksoutalot' a.k.a Tino. I checked to see if the safety was actually off this time and crept up behind him.
  13. "You numbskull, I was trying to end your life! But thanks for the gratitude." "You will do NO such thing!" I said, aiming my gun again. I wondered how many times I would have to threaten people with this gun. I was getting quite tired of it. "Shall I ask you to leave again or should I just kill you now?" I sneered, aiming the gun up to the temple of Lara's forehead. She grimaced and froze. This wouldn't end well. "I see you've made your choice!" I yelled, putting pressure on the trigger.
  14. Tomb Raider isn't about "sexy cities", though. It is in fact about "ugly monsters" and ancient tombs. If you want "sexy cities", play GTA or something. EDIT: An just so you know, it's spelt 'Louvre'. I remember when I was reading a walkthrough of TR6 to see what it was all about (never played the game), I kept pronouncing it as the"Loo-vree"
  15. Yes, it's in the upper left outcropping. It requires all of Lara's body weight to pull down. Happy raiding.
  16. What monkey bars? I don't see any that go over the red lasers past the two golden gates...
  17. How do I get there the correct way, though? I had used the corner bug to get there before. I cant figure out how to pull the switch Lara looks at.
  18. Now I'm stuck at the part that j7 was a few pages ago. I opened one of the golden gates, killed the two men, got the golden(yellow?) key, and now I'm stuck. I tried doing the "button behind the chair" part again, but that just takes me up stairs to a closed door. I'm not sure if I should call Nadine a genious or a psychopath for making such a hard level!
  19. Well, I wasn't really trying to complete the level after I did the corner bug, I just wanted to see how far I could get. Anyway, I don't see a lever in the pool room. Could you point it out w/ a screenshot? And yes, I did the window shooting part already, but I think I'm going to restart. EDIT: n/m, I restarted and found it. I'm just not used to looking for the "use Lara's full body weight" type of switches.
  20. As Ven fought off the wolves in the watery pit, I went ahead and advanced through the hole that was practicly calling me in. The room I faced now held everyone (although Elcrone missing, the possibility of Lara hiding his body was likely, though.) As I scanned the rather large chamber, I noticed some new woman throwing punches at the man I guess we both wanted dead. I stalked towards the fight and raised my revolver out of its holster. I paused as I examined her sweat drenched face. "You know what?" I spoke up to her as she threw Tino to the ground and turned to me. "I recognize you." I finished, having her full attention. "Helen something-or-another, right?" I enquizened(sp?), slowly raising my gun. "It seems we're after the same man." I continued, quickly waving my gun over at Tino, we was struggling to get up. "But he shattered my skull and knocked me out, so..." I said, sweeping my foot quickly towards Helen's boots. "DIBS!" I awaited Helen being knocked to her knees. (OOC: I hope my stopping the fight suddenly didn't tamper with some of your plans, Expireince. I''m sorry if it did. )
  21. It seems that the forums and my computer don't get along too well. More than half the time if I try to scroll down or go to another page, my computer stalls and on some occasions has to reload the page just to scroll down. I tried to see if this was connected to another member for some reason, but it even happens on the forum's front page. Has anyone else had this problem? What could be causing this? This hasn't happened on any other site I go to.
  22. I got this far using the corner bug on the wall that hols the first switch (the one she stares at in the starting room) However, I couldn't go farther because their were lasers behind on the floor below, and I needed a gold key to activate something from an alcove (the keyhole for it is that tiny yellow spec in the grass covered opening in the screenshot ) However, I want to play legitamately. What on Earth do you do after pushing the button behind the chair near the beggining?
  23. "But...I don't have my climbing gear..." I said with a sigh. It would just have to be done the old fashioned way. Every bone in my hands shaking, I grasped a thick dusty stone and pressed my boot against the rock wall. I hadn't done this in over two years, and that was only Gym class' plastic climbing wall. With much hope that I didn't fall to my death, I clasped a slightly higher rock with my opposite hand. I knew I shouldn't look down, but I did anyway. Frigid water was thrasing at the bottom of the pit. Surprisingly, this was a good thing. If I fell, I wouldn't break my neck. However, I might freeze. Pushing the thought of freezing or falling in the back of my mind, I quickly clasped a rock with both hands. Bad move. Scared witless, I jammed both feet into the rocks and held on for dear life. Wanting to scream, I placed a hand on a small jutting rock. I was more confident now, and moved the other hand to a rock above. This was very unconfortable; it made my sides burn and my back ache. I swept my left leg powerfully over to a weak rock. The rock shattered from inpact, and suddenly my other foot slipped and the less-strong rock my left hand was on gave way under stress. It was back to the large rock, sediments and dust cracking my nails. A tear rolled down my cheak. God, I didn't want to die. Thankfully, I noticed a vine a few inches below my feet that was imbeded into the wall. With a gasp, I freefell for a moment, but grabbed the vine, sending dust and rocks everywhere. Dear lord, the vine was snapping! I had to think fast! I had a crazy idea. Maybe I could swing the fine over close to the other side and grab a rock... IT WORKED! Chastity and I made eye contact for a moment. "Mind giving me a hand?" I said, outstreatching my arm. (OOC: My heart was racing just typing that! )
  24. I slowly got up, instantly feeling the pain in the back of my skull. My skull had been broken before by a shady individual, and I knew that Lara's little helper had broken mine now. Almost in the same place, too. I grabbed my revolver, sitting in a concoxtion of the blood from my head and the freezing skull. As I took a step I nearly fainted. He was a dead man. With every step towards the newly opened door, I aimed my gun straight forward. I was now staring at yet another deep pit with a bridge...well, a broken bridge. The second thing I noticed was Ven's unconcious body. Boy, these people like knocking people senseless. I would help her, but she was unreachable. Maybe there was something I could do... A few feet above Ven was a wall of ice that was glimmering wet from the heat of the room that had been closed for who knows how long. It just needed...incouragement. I shot at it a couple of times, sending a stream of ice cold water to Ven's head. Thankfully, she woke up before the icey stream yanked her down to her rocky death. "What do I do now?!?!" I yelled over at her. I was atisfied at my good dead, but that didn't fix the bridge.
  25. As Lara crept towards Elcrone's hushed voice, I grew more tense. No one was going to ruin this for me, not even Lara Croft herself. "Get out of here!" I barked at her, pointing a previously hidden revolver from my backpack. Lara turned her head, raised an eyebrow and kept going. I knew Lara was a "take no crap" kind of woman. She needed a little...coaxing. I fired three bullets past her ear. She immedietly stopped. "Shall I move this gun a few inches closer or will you mosy on back to the summit?" I demanded, my face twisted in seething anger. (OOC: "*M. Night Shamalan(sp?) voice* 'Vat a tweest!")
