This is so very sad. Gene Hackman died of heart disease on 2/18. His wife died of hantavirus from rats 7 days prior on 2/11. From the info in the article, he lived for a week after his wife died but he was in such poor health from Alzheimer's and heart disease, it's possible he wasn't aware she was gone and autopsy report also show he hasn't eaten anything during that time. Considering the subject matter of the movie is the Russian Mafia, I suspect many of the voting members of the Academy got threatened and bought out. I did not see Anora but I did see The Substance with Demi Moore and what Demi had to do on camera, she earned her Best Actress Oscar nomination and she should had won. It was also nominated for Best International Feature Film but it didn't win. What the Latvian filmmakers of Flow did to make it on a very tight budget where every frame is the difference between a finished movie or no movie at all, without a $200-250 million budget like Disney has with each of their animated films, it's nothing short of a miracle. If you have not seen Flow, you need to. Don't think of it as a cartoon and that you are too old for it.
