I've been trying to beat the centaurs for months now. I play for hours at a time and can't beat them, then give up a while and go back to it. Some people here have said beating them was easy. Not on my PS2 system. I cannot use the walk-around method of hiding in the cavern underwater while one kills the other, because after the one is dead, the second will not commit suicide even after I go back up and shoot at it. If I get it's sheild and pick it up, the sheild is then not drawn properly and I can't use it to turn the petrification ray back on the centaur. If Lara gets petrified during this solo battle with the one remaining centuar, a new glitch appears - you lose all control of the game until Lara is killed and then you have to start all over again! Unlike my old TR games on my Mac, where I can save once every second if I wanted to, on PS2, I am only allowed to save when they give you that checkpoint. So I believe I will never get out of here. I don't know what else to do. I've tried everything. My hand can only take so much firing. I tried the idea I read here about firing the shotgun at them. It does enrage them faster with less firing, but I don't have enough shots left either way. Is there anyone willing to copy their save after the centaurs onto a PS2 memory chip that I would happily mail you along with $10 for your trouble? If so, send me a message. I've been doing this wall run thing for two days and I really have had it. I got all the way to the very last pillar once and then she missed the hand hold and I had to start from scratch. Between missing the wall run and then missing the pillar over and over, I'm about ready to toss the whole console out. I was such an ace with Tomb Raider on the computer, but the PS2 controller hurts my hands after a while. I'm going to try the advice below and see if it helps. Frankly, if I were playing a computer version, I'd have used somebody else's save game file by now. This isn't fun anymore. Its just aggrevating. Such a shame. I made it through all the other rooms with almost no help. Too good to be true; I should have known something would happen like this. I just wish I could find a really good controller that gives me precision control. This one makes my hands feel arthritic after a while. Old Toad

Thanks for replying. I guess for somebody who easily aced the game on keyboard control, this thing is just so frustrating. I figured it would be just as easy. NOT. Anyway, I am practicing in the gym. It took me a long time to get past the first exercise. I'm still on 2 and I think I might be on 2 tomorrow! This controller is definitely an exercise in Zen. In my real life I am the Queen of patience. I guess I am spoiled. I used to come into my TR world to not have to be patient and just go out and kick butt. Thanks again. Pathetic Old Dog

Hi All, I just got the Anniversary game and I have been trying for hours to do anything right and I'm not even out of the Manor yet! Understand that I have been playing TR since almost the day it came out back in 1996, so I am not new to the game. The problem is, I did games 1 through 5 on the keyboard of my Macs. I am VERY good on the keyboard. Then, #6, 7 and now Anniversary I have for the PS2 and I am like a total idiot with it. I hate using the PS control thing. I much prefer the arrow keys to go fwd, back, side, etc. I never played 6 and only did part of level 1 of Legend just because its SO frustrating for me to do anything right with this controller. Its like the slightest touch on the stick and she's going in circles and I can never get her to line up properly to make jumps. Does anyone know of a type of controler I could use as an alternative that would like me use the directional arrows instead of the stick? Or can I possibly use a keyboard hooked up to the PS2 USB? I kid you not, TR is literally the only game I play and I don't play often on the PS so I may never get out of Croft Manor! Help! Signed, Old Dog
