We haven't seen any rabbits in our yard for weeks and we thought maybe they moved on.

We went to dinner last night and when we came home, as we were pulling up through the driveway, the headlights shone on the front yard and there they were:

a Freaking Rabbits Town Meeting right on our front yard!!

There must had been at least 15 or more of them; a couple were the size of a small cat!!

I slammed on the brakes which brought the car to a screeching halt - much to the uncomfortable surprise of the occupants: Andrea and my Father.

I pushed the car door open so hard it's a wonder it didn't come unhinged, yanked the seat belt off me and I ran after them annoying critters.

They scattered so fast I couldn't even catch one!!

What do they want?

Why don't they go to someone else's yard?

I thought maybe Andrea's Rose Bushes is what's attracting them but she said they haven't been damaged or destroyed in any way.

Get out of my yard!! All they do is leave their pellets everywhere and make patchy brown spots on my beautiful lawn !!

I swear I am going to get an AK-47 and start some target practice!!

I think your making a bigger deal out of this than it is... They are only rabbits. Its nature... They don't know that what they are doing is wrong.

I'm strange with this. I don't like it when humans try to elevate themselves above other animals, because we're all part of the animal kingdom and humans are just another species. Having said that, I'm also very into the natural food chain and spent my teenage years trying to eat double the amount of meat as I normally would to make up for my (now ex-) vegan sister! And I really enjoy rabbit. The texture reminds me of chicken but the flavour is so lovely and rich!

I share your concerns, I usualy make sure i'm getting a good fresh one by getting mine from the pet shop rather then the market. They're usualy more tender too.

And well, we don't really really eat them much these days in England because of Miximatosis (sp) I think? But I don't know if you have that problem in the states?

Seriously, you can keep them and make them a home and all you can eat carrot garden. The Rabbits will be pleased And then prretty soon they will have alot of baby bunnies and your baby when it's born will already have alot of pets

There's a difference between wild rabbits and domestic ones. Of course, the wild ones have more chances of carrying diseases but that's not the case with domestic. This makes it safe to have them at home as pets or eat them. It's a cultural thing.... think about it... I could be posting in the cockroach thread saying It's a great starter! Could be worse, heh?

Here's another thought. Pick the fattest one and take it to the State Fair. I don't know what you get for winning but it would at least be something worthwhile to do.

I put up the Christmas Lights a couple of weeks ago and the last couple morning, as I leave the house at 6:00 and it's still dark out, I noticed some of the lights were no longer on.

I did some investigating this afternoon and I discovered that the electrical cord on some of the strands of lights has been chewed;

those Damn Bloody Useless Annoying Rabbits are chewing up my Christmas Lights!!

, I got something for them;

I went and bought hollow metal pipes and I am going to run the exposed wirings that touch the grounds thru them;

try chewing on them pipes now, you cottontailed Menaces to the Neighborhood!!

they are the only annoying critters that live in my yard;

we have squirrels and cats and those never bothered us!!

Here's a thought. My parents have a similar predicament. They are constantly coming across stray cats. Alot of these are wild. I'm not saying the bunnies are wild but the cats are. They called animal control and then got a cage with trap door for the cats. Whenever a cat gets in there they take the cage (with the cat) to animal control and animal control takes the cat. The cat doesn't get harmed at all. What happens later I don't know, but it is a safe way to rid the neighborhood of strays. They have taken afew srtays in already and there are more.

Call animal control and find out what can be done. If lucky,the bunnies will be safe and can go to a pet store.

I used to have 11 rabbits, i now have 5 left and i adore them.. each bunny has it's own personality, they are extremely intelligent, and loving, and i've even had one of my bunnies appear in a TR level, so there long live Da Pookas
