You can state why you're deciding to purchase a console or just vote and leave. If you post why please try to refrain from going into a console war, okay? But I know you people won't do that because you're such nice people =)

Anyways, my purchase will be the Playstation 3. Favourite franchises are coming out on it, it's a real step up from the PS2 and it seems to have the best of both the X360 and Wii. Really very excited about it and really looking forward to some of the games like Tekken 6, Resistance and Assassin's Creed.

PS3...simply because of economics. It's cost-effective, because it's backward-compatible. So, I don't need to buy all new games, or figure out what tv I'm going to put another console on. I'd buy an x-box, but we have no games, and most of them aren't suitable for my kids. I have some PC games, including TR3, my first TR, but I don't enjoy playing on the keyboard as much.

I'm sticking with PC... I've never owned a console, so it's what I'm used to. Plus, I like that I can upgrade if I want to, and download patches and trainers for games.

I wanted to vote for the 360 and the PC but only one choice was available; so I chose the PC. Just to add to what Shrensh has already said, there is also an active modding community for certain pc games and this adds alot more replayability.

Besides, I am already planning to upgrade my computer (going the PCI-Express route) within the next year or so now that the new Intel Conroe cpus are out and hopefully, Vista will be stable enough to warrant its use.

I'm sticking with my PC, PC rules.

But if I were to get a console/the one i'm most impressed with, is the new Nintendo. Apart from the pitiful name, Nintendo are the only company that actualy try anything new or daring. Have you seen the controler? And it can play old Megadrive (aka. Genesis to our colonial bretheren) games!! Sonic 2!! Sony and Microsoft are quite happy churning out the same ol' same ol', but with shinier graphics. Nintendo come up with ideas. And Zelda!

Yes I agree with you Raekwon. The new Wii is revolutionary. This console will get the gamer physically involved --- it'll be an immersive experience; something similar to what the game Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy in North America) attempted to do somewhat successfully. This is certainly something to watch out for.

I've never owned a console and I'm not planning to buy one! I've been using my PC for ages now and I'm very happy with it. I'm sure I wouldn't adjust to controls at all, I love the idea of playing and do other things at the same time ( lol love multi tasking) and, of course, there's the upgrading issue. I can't see the point of spending lots of money in something that can't be upgraded...

XBox 360 was 400 but you got a hell of a lot for the money.

If you think Blu-Ray is worth the price remember how DVD's played

on your PS2 after awhile. A game unit is for games not movies.

If they made a PS3 without Blu-Ray it would be cheap as hell.

I think Sony shot themselves in the foot on this one.

Yes, but all of my favorite games are for the Playstation Counsole, which is the main reason, my Boyfriend already has the X-360 and I don't really like it.

I'm not sure how much truth is in this but I just read that PS3 games will only work on one PS3.. I.e. Once you've played a game on your console you can't play it on anyone elses - so no swapping with mate and no buying second hand games. Would certainly match up with Sony's usualy stance on this kind of thing..

It's a patent Sony owns but they haven't used it in production of PS3 games. It's been denied since last year when the rumour started by a SCEE represantative. Plus they know that games consoles are liable to break (yes, no matter who makes them) so then having to re-buy all your PS3 games would mightily annoy people and Sony'd be dead, contrary to popular belief, Sony can actually be largely intelligent =)

I don't know, what about the mess with their CD anti piracy software? They are a bit Orwellian when it comes to controling what people can do with their software.

Having said that, I think you're right about it not being true. It seems a bit *too* far fetched.

OMG! I'm so with you about Tekken 6, that's probobly the main reason I want a PS3 becasue Tekken is my all time favorite fighting game I've seen maybe like 2 trailers at Ign.com and it looks great!!! Theres this game too " Assasins Creed and Heavinly Sword" (I'm not sure if I spelled thoose right) coming out aswell. I't going to be crazy! and fun!

PS3 for me, simply because in past experiences only Sony and Microsoft have made market leading consoles that havn't simply sunk[i/], lol.....And I have a PS2 so I'm staying loyal to the brand! There was a time (back in Mega Drive days!), that I thought Sega was the bees knees....then came the Satern.....

Wii first. Neat idea and its cheaper.... PS3 is my real choice, but I've always loved the games for both consoles in the past. (Only like the Xbox for Halo/2.....)

ALso, the good old PC is still going to be a fav too.

The Ps3 has been delayed in England/Europe until March 2007, because they are out of Blu ray lasers apparentely.....so we have to wait 5 more months.

Look on the plus side though, we get a bigger game selection when we do buy it!!
