A friend of mine showed me a game he was playing called Tomb Raider 3. There was a woman in a kayak, and he made her drive the kayak through spikes and she died. I though that was too cool and he made me a copy of the game. The rest is history...

TR5: Chronicles because it was short, and I didn't like the game being split up into different stories.

Constantly for TR3, but not very often for the other games. Mainly I look at walkthoughs to find out how to get past boss battles.

Well, I don't know which game is the creepist, because they all make me jump. I think that TR1 makes me jump the most, because in the PC version there's no background music. So it's just creepy background noise and the sound of Lara's footsteps. So I get quite immersed in the atmosphere, and then when something jumps on me unexpectedly I get a huge fright

I really enjoyed TR3. It was my first, and I wish I could get back that feeling of playing TR for the very first time. I also enjoy AoD immensely because of all the bugs.

I was looking at games to rent at Blockbuster Video and I picked up TR 1 and decided to try it out. I was instantly hooked, I eventually bought the game.

Someone came to install SimCity 2000 on my PC and ended up installing a demo (Great Wall) for TR2 as well. I don't know how, but I knew who Lara was even tho I didnt play anything other than Stunt. I played the demo and loved it even tho I couldnt get out of the cave where the game begins . Then I was passing through a store a week later and there it was: TR1 Gold, for this minimum price. I bought it and now Im still here. Lost Vally has a special place on my heart, the first levels of TR1 are PUR classic. I loved it but when I got to Atlantis, I bought the full TR2 and got to the end of it first. It was so easy to get out of the cave after I played TR1.

Chronicles, the game is just useless and IMO, just a shame they released it to make big profits when the world was expecting more creativity involving the game.

It doens't bring any chalenge at all. It's just linear and the same formula is repeated on every single level.

Last Revelation brought this new ideia where the puzzles were SO HARD but they all made sense and were connected to Egyptian miths. And the levels where you go back and fourth added too much chalenge, combining with a great plot. It's hard, but it's so good.

Unlike TR3. That one was a challenge to me because whoever created it decided it was cool to put a bunch of puzzles that dont make any sense at all and made a hard game just for the sake of it, becoming almost impossible to get to the end of it.

#1) I play TR on a powerful and powerfully ugly, home-built, completely jury-rigged PC. Also Game Boy Advance, mobile phone (emulator…shhh don't tell) and now my cute pink DS Lite.

#2) Tell us about how you came across TR for the first time. Around January or February of 1997, a friend of my husband's lent him a copy of TR1. My hubby was into the likes of Doom, Quake and Descent at that time, but he figured he'd give it a try. He got stuck at the fire pillars in the Palace Midas and literally threw the game in the garbage. I pulled it out of the trash and the rest, as they say, is history.

#5) Name your top 3 favorite TR games. TR1, TR3 and Anniversary (I hope).

#6) Which TR game was your least favorite? Why? Angel of Darkness and Legend are tied for least favorite. Angel of Darkness because it was released unfinished, had problematic controls and way too many bugs. Legend because, although it's beautiful, was way too short, way too linear and didn't include nearly enough exploration and loot.

#7) TR Chronicles was the easiest for me because by the time it came out, I had played through all the others. So the controls were familiar, as well as the style of game design. After a while, you get a feel for what the designers are trying to do, where they were likely to hide things, etc.

#8) TR Legend was a challenge for me because of the new controls, which aren't exactly keyboard-friendly and take a bit of getting used to if one is used to the old-style controls.

#9) How often did you have to use a walkthrough/strategy guide? Almost never. I did consult a guide to find out how the Legend controls worked and what the various rewards unlocked. I also am not ashamed to admit I will call on other players for help if I get stuck or can't find a secret/reward. The printed guidebooks tend to be fairly useless for the price they charge, so I generally ask questions online rather than resort to a book.

#10) Were you always on the hunt and look out for the TR secrets? Always. That's the most fun part of the games, IMO.

#12) TR 2 and Angel of Darkness were the creepiest and often made me jump. The spider cave area in TR2 gave me nightmares same with the Sanitarium in AOD. But I have to admit, I also get sweaty palms even with virtual heights—such as TR1 St. Francis' Folly, etc.

#13) Which TR game was the one that you enjoyed playing the most? Why? Probably TR1, just because it was the first and is kind of "magical" for that reason. The others were great, but you always remember your first love.

#14) The hardest level in TR1 was The Cistern (at least the first time) because it took me forever to find all those keys and figure out what to do with them. Then crazy Pierre kept appearing out of nowhere and shooting at me. Yikes!

#15) The hardest level in TR2 was The Ice Palace because of those #*^&%@! springboards. Boiiiiing...crunch.

#16) The hardest level in TR3 was Meteorite Cavern because of Willard. But compared to a couple of the Legend bosses, he's a creampuff.

I didn't find any one level harder than the others, though there were a few spots where I got hung up—the rolling boulder in Ghana (at least until a helpful player sent me a tip; now it's easy), the serpent in England, trying to nail that alleged "shortcut" at the beginning of Ghana, and a few others. Now the hardest part about it is when I to switch back and forth between Legend and the classics. I'm constantly spazzing and pressing the wrong keys.

It was a good extra level to play, but it didn't prove much for a challenge.

I thought it was nice to see Lara when she was younger. At least it gave some background into who she became to be when she got older.

Legend. I had some issues with the sudden change in Lara's background, but the time-travel aspect was very interesting and well done. As long as they don't cheese it in part 2, I think this is the best storyline so far. TR1 is a close second though.

Natla. Love Jennifer Hale's voice acting (sarcastic, commanding), great speeches ("How does that make your wallet rumble?" "Wasters!"...etc.), and, as Blade mentioned, what could be cooler than a villain who suddenly sprouts wings and starts flying around?

Unlimited saves. Crystals and checkpoints are horrible.

Write in vote: bonus levels. I don't care if there's a tangible reward for secrets or not, but I think if you find them all it should unlock extra gameplay and not just silly stuff like concept art and outfits.

Boaz, by far, though this was more about not being able to maneuver Kurtis. If that same battle were scripted in the old game engine, or the Legend engine, I'm sure it would have been manageable.

Love it, though I'm a little skeptical about the whole wall-running thing in Anniversary. I guess as long as it's only an occasional occurrence, it'll be OK.

It wasn't super-challenging, but it was nice to have a little extra something for all the hard work. I preferred the "Nightmare in Vegas" level in The Golden Mask. Campy good fun!

She was kind of hideous, but that's sort of cool in a way. Knowing that an awkward, ungainly teen can grow up into Lara gives us all a little hope. I loved the young Lara levels in Chronicles.

Yes, though I prefer the long braid in the later games.

I've played all of them. They all have their high points, but I guess I liked the Lost Artifact best. It seemed most like a complete adventure.

This one's hard to decide. I have a bunch of favorites for different reasons. Tinnos is beautiful and unique looking. Aldwych is creepy/atmospheric. Area 51 is just plain cool. There aren't really any that I don't like.

#18) My favorite level in TR: The Last Revelation (1999) was actually all the interlinked Alexandria levels because together they felt like one big area, which was gorgeous to look at and fun to explore.

#19) My favorite level in TR: Chronicles (2000) was Gallows Tree because young Lara had no weapons and had to run from those creepy changeling things...eek!.

#20) My favorite level in TR: The Angel Of Darkness (2003) was because________. I don't really have a favorite level in AOD, but the Bio-Research and Aquatic Research levels were kind of cool, with the weird plants and mutant creatures.

It's a tie between the classic mint green top and brown shorts and the blue sport outfit. I always change into this one in Croft Manor. It seems like something Lara would wear while lounging around the house--like in the banner on my site where she's playing on her PS2.

#1) I play TR on PC(TR1-6), PS2 (TR:L).

#2) Tell us about how you came across TR for the first time.

My dad played a demo of what I remember to be TRII on PC, I discovered the box for it (no demo ) one day around 2001/02 I guess (TR movie just came out on VHS), did some research, saw the movie, and I was hooked!

#6) Which TR game was your least favorite? Why? TR:AoD; it was (is, not done yet) really boring.

#7) TR 5 was the easiest for me becasue I don't know, it was super easy the second time around (VCI was still a pain).

#8) TR 3 was a challenge for me becasue London, Antarctica.

#9) How often did you have to use a walkthrough/stratedgy guide? Usually once per level on my first run through; even more frequently if I'm replaying for secrets.

#10) Were you always on the hunt and look out for the TR secrets? I always try to find them all on my 2nd play through.

#13) Which TR game was the one that you enjoyed playing the most? Why? TR4, because it was actually pretty easy and fun to finally play a TR game all the way through

#15) The hardest level in TR2 was Opera House because Large and confuzing, guy gunning down Lara from land while she swam at the begining.

#2) Who is your favorite TR villain ? Why? Amanda Evert is my favorite Tomb Raider villain because she has a prior history with Lara. It would be great if she became the "Mr.Claw" of the series.

All the ones I've battled so far are easy! (Willard and Boaz sound like a pain, though!)

TR:CoL because it had far more of a Tomb Raider'y plot to it (Only one tomb in the first movie? COME ON.)

Flares. A blinding 21st century light kills the mood of an old crumbling tomb.

No, I didn't like it, since I feel that CD could have come up with more creative ways to pass long gaps, move objects and such

#9) If you found every secret in TR III your reward at the end was “All Hallows” Did you ever get to play it? If yes, was this bonus level a challenge for you?

I've heard about that level. It seems like it would be a major disapointment. The only reason I would go after all of TR III's secrets are for the "completion" feeling

#10) What were your thoughts when young Lara Croft was first introduced in TR: The Last Revelation (1999)? Was there anything in particular that you liked or didn’t like about young Lara?

"Just shut up already, you old windbag! This is the fourth game in the series! Why are you telling Lara how to jump?! Do you think she's stupid?!"

In other words, I hated the whole idea.

That was fun.

#11) Did you like Lara’s hairstyle in TR I?

Considering that it was their only choice at the time, I didn't mind. There's no reason to revisit it now, though.

#15) My favorite level in TR I (1996) was Caves because it was the first level of TR that I saw played all the way through.

#16) My favorite level in TR II (Starring Lara Croft-1997) was Venice because It was fun (to watch, at least.

#17) My favorite level in TR III (Adventures of Lara Croft-1998) was Temple Ruins because It, in my opinion, is what a TR level should be. You have this "on edge" feeling constantly, and you feel completely isolated.

#18) My favorite level in TR: The Last Revelation (1999) was the Karnak levels because It was like a mini-tomb raider adventure in itself.

#19) My favorite level in TR: Chronicles (2000) was Streets of Rome because It's the only level in the entire game that really felt like it lived up to the 'tomb raider' standards, at least to me.

#20) My favorite level in TR: The Angel Of Darkness (2003) was Tomb of Ancients/Hall of Seasons because These levels were very pretty and atmospheric. It showed that AoD could pull off wonderful tombs; too bad it was only two levels.

#21) My favorite level in TR: Legend (2006) was England because Unlike the rest of the game, you were almost constantly isolated (Zip and Alister actually shut up for the most part for once) and you weren't in an epic uber-cinematic battle every other room.
